Valentine’s Day has always been one of my favorite holidays—it’s sweet, simple, and such a fun way to remind the people in your life how much they’re loved. Over the past few years, I’ve started a tradition with my kids that has quickly become one of my favorite parts of the holiday: Valentine’s Day love baskets.
If you’ve never heard of a love box, think of it as a curated little collection of surprises that make Valentine’s Day extra special. It’s my way of celebrating my kids and showing them love in a thoughtful, personal way. Plus, they’re a lot of fun to put together!
Here’s a peek at what’s inside this year’s love boxes:
- Books: I love adding a couple of seasonal books to the mix. This year, I’ve picked out some sweet Valentine-themed stories that are perfect for bedtime snuggles.
- Pajamas: Cute, cozy pajamas are always a hit! I found some adorable heart-print PJs that the kids are going to love.
- Beaded heart garland: A fun way to bring a little Valentine’s cheer to their rooms! I love how something as simple as a garland can make a space feel festive.
- Fun straws: Bright, colorful straws shaped like hearts are a small but exciting addition—they’re perfect for making their favorite drinks feel a little extra special.
- Arts and crafts: I always try to include something creative they can enjoy. This year, it’s a little DIY Valentine card kit, so they can make cards for friends and family.
- Heart-shaped waffle maker: I can’t wait to whip up some heart-shaped waffles for them—it’s such a fun way to kick off Valentine’s morning.
- Sweater: I found the cutest sweater for Blake to wear throughout February (and honestly, year-round—hearts never go out of style IMO).
- Valentine’s magnetic building tiles: These were a last-minute find, and I know they’re going to love them. It’s a creative and fun activity they can play with over and over again.
The love boxes are more than just gifts—they’re a tradition my kids look forward to every year. Watching their faces light up as they open them is the best part.
If you’re looking for a way to add some magic to Valentine’s Day, I can’t recommend love boxes enough! They’re such a fun, thoughtful tradition to start with your little ones.
