What to Wear to a Holiday Party
Tis the season for holiday parties and festive get togethers! Cheers to christmas lights, gingerbread houses and plenty of red and green. With all the exciting festivities going on during this season, I wanted to put together a post featuring holiday party outfits to help you get dressed for your upcoming holiday parties. I’m sharing two looks today – one is pretty basic (and that you probably already have in your closet!) and the other is if you’re wanting to be a little more brave this season.
Honestly, I could have put together about 78 different fun and festive party outfit ideas – party outfits are probably my FAVORITE to put together (especially when I can add a little festive flair). But for sake of time, I had to contain myself to focusing on just two looks.
Festive Holiday Attire
When considering what to wear to festive holiday parties, the first things that came to my mind were (of course) sequins, red, metallics, and party skirts. And as such, I centered my first two holiday-inspired looks around just those things!
Go With The Little Red Dress
First up I’m featuring your go-to little red dress that will most likely be appropriate for ALL your holiday festivities this season. It’s the safe and easy bet when it comes to holiday party attire – AND you’ll for sure be able to find another use for it throughout the year.
Shop The Look: DRESS: Soprano Bow Back Dress $under $60! I’m wearing XS) // TORY BURCH CLUTCH // COAT: Mango Faux Leopard Coat (old – similar HERE and HERE) // SHOES: Dee Keller (old – similar) // LIPS: Stila Stay All Day Lip Stain in ‘Fiery’ Red // EARRINGS: Tasha Chandelier Earrings (under $50)
Go All Out With a Midi-Length Tulle Skirt
And then for those of you who are wanting to be a little more festive (**raises hand really high**), I’ve got a fun and holiday-statement-worthy outfit featuring a white tulle skirt.
I paired my favorite tulle skirt with a red holiday-inspired plaid that I got from J. Crew Factory on major discount (#score!). I love the juxtaposition of the fancy/princess-y skirt with the casual-esque button up. And then I wanted to make a statement by contrasting the white with stark black heels! This look would also be super cute with red pumps, but mine hadn’t come in the mail yet.
