Y’all know I’m all about easy-to-wear clothes that I can run around in. The key is finding pieces that check both the style box and the comfort box. Not gonna lie, I gravitate a lot toward the athleisure vibe when it comes to my day to day outfits. And I get lots of questions from y’all about what I’m wearing on those more casual days, so I thought it would be helpful to just round all my must-haves up and put them in a post!
Denim Jackets
Denim jackets are probably one of my most core pieces in my closet. They’re SO easy to just put on and go. I usually keep one in my car in case I want to throw it on over my workout clothes to look a little more put together after a workout. I have the Levi’s denim (ex-boyfriend) trucker jacket and this Madewell one in a size medium (for an oversized look).
Workout Tops
Honestly, I’m really picky about what types of tops I like to wear to workout. I either want one that’s tight with a built-in bra (love this one from Amazon for $29 that I actually shared with y’all last year – I get size XS) or I want one that’s loose enough for me to do a cute front-tuck with my high-waisted leggings. See Image of it below:
But also, if I’m going with a looser option, I’m particular about how big the arm holes are (random?) and how low the neck is. I just like the bra and top combination to look flattering and cute. Am I being picky here or does anyone else get particular about this stuff? Anyway, recently I’ve been wearing this cropped v-neck by Alo Yoga (see image below) in white and I just pulled the trigger on the pink one too (in size XS). And then I really like this one too by Zella ($29) that comes in several colors – it has a higher, scoop neck.
I’ve also got a few of the Spiritual Gangster tanks that I often throw on for barre. Some of their sayings are super cute and I especially love the rose gold metallic lettering they have on a few of them!
I have this tie-front top (see image of it below) too in pink to throw on over my outfit when I’m wearing a tighter top and want something a little less sporty. I think it looks so cute with leggings and sneakers!
Leggings
Y’ALL KNOW I AM OBSESSED WITH THE LULULEMON ALIGN PANT (see image of me wearing them below), right? I literally have them in like 5 colors (but honestly black is my favorite) and wear them just about every single day. I have the. 25″ ones and seriously can’t rave about them enough. They’re not great for intense workouts (y0u’ll probably start to see pilling if you wear them for this just FYI) but I wear them to barre and even just hanging out…and on my walks too!
I also picked up these lilac high-waisted leggings (see image below) earlier this season and I’ve been wearing them for both working out and running around – I LOVE the color! There’s a matching sports bra too if you’re into sets!
You’ve more than likely also heard me talk about my Zella leggings, which are a great budget-friendly option!
I don’t usually buy printed leggings because I worry about being able to wear them or if they’ll be flattering on me, but I picked up a pair from the new Soul Cycle line (see image above) at Nordstrom and I absolutely love them. The colors are so fun and the lime green stripe on the side is such a vibrant and fun accent! I also love how they look with these black Nike sneakers from DSW (they run TTS).
OH and then I recently picked up this pair of high-waisted black pants from Nordstrom (the Zella brand – image above) and I LOVE this new material! They’re a bit more shiny and feel so great! I would recommend sizing DOWN. I usually get size XS (and sometimes even size small) in Zella but I had to return and get size XXS for this particular pair.
Sneakers
And speaking of sneakers – I’m THE sneaker girl. Like, I love them all and probably have way too many pairs. If you saw my stories last week, then you saw that I just got the new Outdoor Voices x Hoka lilac sneakers (image below) and YOU GUYS, THEY ARE SO BEAUTIFUL! Have you ever tried Hoka sneakers? They’re AMAZING for walking and running with incredible support. My roommate Katie and I got matching pairs!
If you’re interested in the workout set, it’s also by Outdoor Voices (I got the 7/8 bottoms and wear size small for reference on both the top and bottom).
