If there was one thing I saw when it came to street style during NYFW, it was matching sets – usually monochrome. And I have to say, it’s one of my favorite looks to come front and center within the last year. It started in summer with crop tops and shorts or skirts, which I thought was a nice way to freshen up dresses, and we’re seeing it even stronger as we move into Fall.
One of my favorite things about the matching-separates-look is that it’s fluid and versatile. You can wear a form of it from everything like the office (a pant suit or my pajama look from above if you work in a creative field)
….to a date (I’d totally rock this white outfit out or like I did to the LTK NYFW party)
….or something more casual like a party (isn’t this matching black set SO adorbs?!).
Whatever the case, I think the “look-matching-set-look” is also flattering. We all know that monochrome is a universally flattering way to dress; It elongates the body, so I always rely on it if I’m feeling blah – since I’m short. No matter the color or print, it does the body favors keeping everything the same.
Since I’m so in love with each of these looks, I wanted to cover them in one post. I think they’re extremely easy to pull off, so hopefully you’re wearing them or will start after seeing this post!
