The Clogs Comeback: Yay or Nay?

Alright, so, clogs! I honestly cannot even believe I’m writing this because I’m not sure I ever saw clogs making a comeback but here we are! Lol. Next thing ya know I’ll be writing about bucket hats, haha. Ok, probably not but don’t rule anything out at this point!

So what do we think? Are we into clogs making a comeback? I have a few thoughts! First, I think it’s fair to say that not all clogs are created equal. Personally, some clogs I’ve seen are just a little too… cloggy… for me. Know what I mean? They have to still look updated, ya know? Second, it’s all about how you style them! I’m definitely not saying how I wear/style them is the only way (not at all!), but for me personally, I really only love them when worn with more staple pieces vs more trendy pieces. Basically like when styling any trend, don’t want to go overboard and do too many trends at once – you have to give your look some balance!

With that said, I tried to create that balance I’m talking about when putting together this look. I chose some basic straight jeans and a casual top that is really versatile and timeless all to balance out the trendiness happening south of my ankles.

I also really really love these specific clogs. They’re by Madewell and I think they nailed the whole old school clog meets 2021 elevated vibe. This is easily a shoe that I’ll wear multiple times with denim, dresses, skirts, etc. throughout fall and then again in the spring. They’re also surprisingly comfortable! I like that the height is a little lower and that I’ve been able to do some actual walking around in them when out without my feet hurting.

My conclusion is clogs are a YAY! However, I do want to emphasize again that not ALL clogs are a yay for me but generally speaking, I think I’m very into the trend! What do you think?? Would you wear them or do you think they’re another throwback trend that will be over in a minute?
