Staples for a Neutral Business Casual Wardrobe

I’m excited to start the week with a bit of normalcy around here and bring y’all a few ideas for a business casual wardrobe. I totally get that most offices are closed right now and people are working from home, but I still want to share some inspiration from one of my favorite business attire brands – White House Black Market. This way when schedules and routines go back to normal, you have some amazing new outfits to wear!

I focused this post on staples for the neutral girl’s work wardrobe for offices that have more of a business casual vibe. White House Black Market has so many great pieces that you can mix and match, which I love. Statement pieces are great, but from what I remember from working in an office (before blogger life), you can only wear those things like once a quarter. So I like to think the outfit I put together is super practical and you’ll get lots of wear out of everything!

Like I said, I wanted something neutral so I knew right away I had to find a great pair of black slacks. These are key to any business wardrobe! White House Black Market’s slim ankle pant is SO comfortable with just the right amount of stretch. They pair well with any of the tops I linked below but for my outfit, I opted for this pointelle mock neck sweater. How stunning is it? The ruffles drew me to it pretty much immediately! Such a fun detail and top to wear this spring and summer. Really loving this off-the-shoulder top as well!

Also, the slim ankle pant comes in eight colors, so I’d recommend getting a few neutrals – maybe the black and the navy and probably a tan too. With these neutral bottoms as the foundation, you’ll always have something to wear with any top or blazer.

The next neutral thing you want to be sure to think about is shoes! Y’all know I am THE shoe girl, so no matter what style I’m shopping for, it’s always the best part for me. A good, basic work shoe I found at White House Black Market is this pair of strappy mules. I wore them around town for most of the day when shooting this look and can confirm they’re very comfortable. The heel is just the right height to add a little something but also still appropriate for the office.

And here are a few more business casual favorites:

Are you guys loving the work attire content? This is something I get a lot of requests for so I hope this was helpful and gives you something to look forward to right now!
