Hi! How was your weekend?? I won’t lie…mine was freaking awesome! I went back to Baton Rouge thursday morning and…haven’t studied since. Uh Oh! haha.
I spent the bulk of the weekend spending some much-needed quality time with my Dad. Since I’ve been so busy with working/packing/studying/etc., I haven’t been able to just hang out with my family. I feel like I’ve been on such a rigorous schedule that every minute felt important. And even though I wasted LOTS of minutes (haha. duh. I’m so ADD), I still never really took legitimate breaks because I always had the worries in the back of my mind. You know? And so it was kind of a lose/lose situation. You know? Anyway, It was so nice to put my CPA books on hold, completely pushing them (and all their accompanying thoughts) away for a few days. I know I just dug myself into a deeper whole, as far as being behind, but I think it was definitely worth it.
On Thursday afternoon, my Dad and I went to Z Gallery and picked out a few bright and fun accents/decor for around the house–SUCH a blast! We probably walked around the store 100 times, trying to figure out what to get since I was pretty much in love with the whole store. And then on Friday, we spent the entire morning running in and out of antique shops in a small town just outside Baton Rouge. We originally drove out there to look at this armoir my grandmother had in her antique shop, but this quick trip turned into a full-out (high-speed) antiquing adventure. Once I stepped into a few of the surrounding stores, and realized how much potential the area had (an entire strip of adorable stores), there was no turning back. I was in heaven! Needless to say, my Dad was a few hours late for his afternoon meetings (oops!), and our 45-minute trip turned into a 3-hour one-more-shop-I-promise/5-more-minutes-please adventure. It was awesome and we had such a blast! I could have spent ALL day roaming those cute little shops. I found a dining room table and a few other little details, including a few pieces for my future gallery wall. I can’t wait to see how it all looks in the house!
