A few days ago, I received this shirt from an interesting Munich-based t-shirt company that found my blog and contacted me to see if I would be interested in wearing a shirt on BrightonTheDay. I chose my two favorites from the lookbook – the other one I picked should be on the blog soon. What I really like about these shirts is that they are essentially “wearable art” in that each shirt showcases an actual piece of art by a notable and emerging contemporary artist. The shirt I’m wearing is called “Miss Thang” and is by an artist out of San Antonio: Franco Mondini-Ruiz.
The Des Artistes label is is sold in several high-end stores, mostly in Europe and Japan, and merchandised along contemporary collections and designer denim brands (such as Dona Ida). The company launched in 2009 and has been featured in the likes of Vogue, ELLE, and InStyle. In my opinion, the shirts are super cute with regular denim, colored pants/jeans, or jean cut-offs. For some reason, I feel like these shirts would be the perfect air-port attire – really comfortable!
Below are a few snippets showing a couples magazines in which this shirt was featured.
