Plaid Trend Fall 2013
WWD reports that “Designers are mad for plaid this fall as the pattern takes on many incarnations, from glamorous coats at Louis Vuitton to Nineties grunge at Saint Laurent, and everything in between.” And although this Scottish-inspired print has been around since the beginning of time (for-like-ever), it’s taking a trendy turn this season with a modern twist. Think less lumberjack, more lady-jack (I know. So cheesy). Less naughty school girl, more sophisticated (yet not-trying-too-hard) cool girl. And although some fashionistas are may still be sporting the laid-back flannel shirt, I’m leaning more towards the “glamorous [incarnation]” of this trend involving sleek, feminine and sophisticated styles.
