Don’t get me wrong, I totally love weddings – celebrating love with people they love, the food, the dancing, the decor, the dress! – but has anyone else noticed that they fully take over your (spring and) summer plans? It’s a ton of fun, but I’m more so shocked that your twenties (and probably thirties?) are filled with all sorts of wedding-related events. I guess it’s just not something I really thought about until the invites started taking over our fridge…and my desk too.
Summer Wedding Season is Here
As wedding season officially kicks off, I’ve been on the hunt for a few different dresses for upcoming occasions. I didn’t want to be a last-minute Brighton and be running to the mall the day of wedding events, so I’m patting myself on the back right now! I knew I wanted a couple different styles: one for a fancier dress code, one for a casual bridal shower, and then one feminine dress for a particular wedding.
After scouring the web for what felt like hours, I finally found the perrrfect girly dress that I had been searching for! It seems like an easy task, but let me tell y’all – finding a girly dress that doesn’t make you look like you’re either 5 years old or a Disney princess is hard stuff!
I’ve been a long-time fan of Modcloth for event dressing or summer looks in general, so I knew I’d find something once I hit their site. After a couple scrolls down, my eyes were drawn to the dress I’m wearing in these pictures. And if I do say so myself, it’s like the most perfect girly dress ever, am I right?! How cute is it?
Why I Love This Cute, Girly Dress
First up, the color is perfect – exactly what I was going for, even though I didn’t know which shade I was searching for exactly. I don’t even wear a ton of pink, but the material and this particular shade made me fully fall in love. If I had to pick a chic color of pink, it’d be this exact shade. I kinda want to paint my room it now. Too much?
Now let’s talk about the fit. I always want something that’s flattering (who doesn’t?), and I feel like this hits in all the right places yet is still classy. I’m usually drawn to something that cinches at the waist like this, and this dress in person didn’t disappoint (aka it didn’t just look good on the model and then look totally different on me). I feel totally confident in it, which doesn’t happen all that often and y’all know that means you found a winner.
I paired it with classic white ankle heels because the dress alone is where I wanted the focus, but I was kinda bored with nude heels. The dress felt like it deserved something more, and I love how the white plays on the feminine vibes.
I’m pretty sure y’all will see me in this dress a lot this summer – from the wedding to a bridal shower or even just a fun summer party. Hope you like it, because I’m pretty obsessed!
