September and March are my favorite months out of the year when it comes to Fashion. All the brand new arrivals are hitting the racks and everyone is excited about the changing of seasons – all the newness is exciting! This is the time when you’re pretty much over the season that’s been lagging on and you can’t wait until the weather cooperates so you can actually switch out your closet. You know what I’m talking about.
Last week I was in NYC – as I’m sure you’re aware if you’ve been following along – for fashion week. And although I know the whole point of fashion week is to debut the next season’s collection (in this case – Spring 2018), I love seeing how the upcoming season is translated into street style via all the fashionistas attending the shows. I feel like it’s the first big push for Fall (or Spring if we’re talking Feb FW) and an interpretation of rising trends. As such, I’d rather spend time talking about the trends I saw on the streets and save my notes from the runways for Spring (since that’s when it will be most relevant to you!).
I wish I had more time to do my typical “BTD Recently” update on everything, but I’ve got a flight to catch to Italy in a few hours and I wanted to get my NY recap of outfits up before moving onto the next trip. So prepare yourself for lots of photos and not as much (as usual!) text. Let me know if you’ve got a question I didn’t answer in the comments below – I think I included all the outfits but there’s a chance I missed one.
If you missed it, I wrote a whole blog post on this outfit talking about my love for monochromatic looks and mixing textures. Something about this skirt (probably the material and the way it lays) looks like a million bucks to me and so I was shocked when I saw the price tag. Well, shocked and excited of course!
Outfit Details: Love & Fire Satin Skirt ($45 – wearing size XS) // BlankNYC Suede Moto Jacket // Vince Sweater Tank // Manolo Blahnik Pumps (mine are actually Dee Keller from a few seasons ago) // Gucci Marmont Bag
Bright and early Friday morning, we headed downtown to the WTC for the Club Monaco Presentation. This was a first for me and I was SUPER excited to get to go because Club Monaco is one of my absolute favorite brands! I’m obsessed with just about everything they create and the fit is exquisite – one of the only brands that fits me without alterations! Needless to say, the collection was amazing! And the venue was just as amazing – the views of the city from the top floor of the WTC were incredible!
The presentation was on the top floor of the WTC which – to be honest – was an experience in and of itself!
Beautiful views from the Club Monaco presentation at the world trade center – STUNNING! And it was a 360 view too so this was just one little glimpse!
Christian Louboutin sequin heels // DVF pencil skirt (also available at Nordstrom) // Alice + Olivia velvet camisole
Did a quick outfit change before heading back towards Grand Central station for the Kate Spade presentation. I wore this little magical number to the presentation at the Grand Central Oyster Bar. It was so fun and had all the New Orleans vibes, which I of course LOVED (as a Louisiana gal myself!)
Outfit Details: Kate Spade New York Dress // Embellished Collar Shirt // Estee Lauder Sculpting Lip Gloss // Dior Sunglasses
Currently working on a blog post talking about my love for matching separates and this duo is one of my favorite purchases this season! They’re so flattering and I love the contrast stitch detailing. I can’t wait to style these pants another way this season!
Outfit Details: Lovers + Friends Marcella Top // Lovers + Friends Sedge Pant // Julie Vos Large Chain Bracelet // Julie Vos Byzantine Cuff // Julie Vos Petite Bangle // Julie Vos Stone Bangle // Julie Vos Valencia Stacking Bracelet // Chloe Mini Drew Bag
I’ve loved all the new iterations of denim I’ve been seeing on the streets and at the shows (I mentioned the denim details at KSNY on stories if you saw?!). And since I never really could get fully on board with the overalls trend (aside from this girly overalls dress), this dress was JUST the right way for me to experiment with this trend while also still feeling confident and myself!
Outfit Details: Mother Denim Dress // Ann Taylor Perfect Shirt // Julie Vos Large Chain Bracelet // Julie Vos Byzantine Cuff // Julie Vos Petite Bangle // Julie Vos Stone Bangle // Julie Vos Valencia Stacking Bracelet // Gucci Marmont Bag
I wore this look to the Tibi show with Aveda. I hope you got to see my instagram stories from backstage and some of the looks from the collection – it was my favorite show of the season (maybe tied with Lela Rose?).
Outfit Details: Maje Plaid Bomber // Kendall + Kylie High Rise Jogger // Gucci Sylvie Mini Bag
Are we SO GLAD that wearing your pajamas is cool?! I know I am. Talk about all you can eat buffet for brunch…RIGHT?! If you’re diggin this look but want to see more of it, check out the full blog post on the pajamas trend this way.
Outfit Details: Free People Shirt // Free People Pants // Ray-Ban Icon Sunglasses // Gucci Mini Dionysus // Dee Keller Pumps (similar HERE)
Did you see my blog post rounding up all my favorite Fall trends for 2017? I shared this outfit in that post if you missed it!
Outfit Details: Frame Ruffle Skirt // Julie Vos Large Chain Bracelet // Julie Vos Byzantine Cuff // Julie Vos Petite Bangle // Julie Vos Stone Bangle // Julie Vos Valencia Stacking Bracelet // Prada Pointy Pump // Gucci Mini Dionysus Bag
Quick coffee run outfit I threw on before actually getting dressed for the day 🙂 I forgot to bring workout clothes on this trip (hand over face emoji) so I didn’t really have any throw-and-go clothes other than my pajamas lol. So I had to work with my “actual outfit” pieces for quick looks lol – to be honest, usually I’d just wear leggings and a sweatshirt for a coffee run. Anyway, I love the high-neck and sleeve detail of this top; I’m thinking I might snatch it up in another color as well.
Outfit Details: 1.State Bell Sleeve Sweater // Stuart Weitzman Leopard Flats // Moon & Lola Delphi Necklace // COH Black Jeans
Wore this cute little number to the Lela Rose show in Washington Square Park! It was so beautiful!
and I shared this dress with y’all last week and ALL THE reasons why I think it’s SUCH a great find. See the full blog post + more photos over this way!
I wore this little two piece matching set (LOVE) to the LTK party Saturday night. I love a good winter white look and think this will be cute to wear with booties or even these shoes if it’s not too cold once it’s gets cooler (maybe with some faux fur?!).
Wore this dress to the Veronica Beard show on Monday – which was AMAZING. I love her stuff. I always have and those blazers she makes are out of this world amazing. That’s how I first found her – was through her beautiful blazers. Please tell me you’ve seen her stuff? She’s so talented! And it’s definitely worth checking out
Ruffle detail tee ($29 wearing size XS) // Loafers (really old – similar here)
$1 Pizza date with my blogger BFF Olivia Rink – LOVE her to pieces!
Ruffle detail tee ($29 wearing size XS) // Stuart Weitzman Mules
I went all out for my last day in NYC for the Alice + Olivia presentation. I felt like this look was pretty fitting for it since Stacey tends to push the limits when it comes to statement-worthy outfits. I loved how this top paired with the skirt and then I added my vintage Chanel pin to finish off the outfit!
