Making excuses takes the same amount of time as making progress

I found this new website ‘strikingtruths.com’, that is almost too good to tell everyone about. Because, selfishly, I want to keep it hidden and novel and protect it from the “Pinterest effect”. (which is where great work is often cheapened because we see so much at once, if that makes sense). Anyway, I love these quotes and each and every one made me think. I like how they aren’t necessarily the traditional quotes that you see everywhere else – they’re different and aren’t always of famous people either.

I particularly like the quote about changing how people feel. One thing I’ve always heard from “the wise” (aka older and more experienced people) is that you can’t change people. I’m not saying that people can’t change, but instead that we cannot change them ourselves. It must be a very personal and self-driven decision for that individual. However, we can change our own actions. And by changing our own reactions, we can often influence the way that person feels. And this, in turn, can sometimes have the effect of altering the way he/she acts. I think this is a very valuable lesson.
