Y’ALL. These shorts are amazing fyi. Here’s another photo of me when I was picking out the outfit so you can see them from a different angle – I like to show the behind the scenes sometimes (or just other photos in general!)
Outfit Details: The Fifth Label Print Shorts (OBSESSED) // Halogen V-neck Tee (MUST) // Chloe Mini Marcie Bag // Madewell Choker // Sonix Preston Sunglasses // Madewell flats (currently on sale, run TTS) // the Daily Edited Phone Case // glasses review and story coming next week!
I don’t know how it always happens, but somehow or another I always go WEEKS without doing an instagram round up for you guys. And then before I know it, I’ve got piles and piles of instagram posts to link up for y’all and oodles of outfits and life experiences to share too! After back-to-back travels (or so it seemed) for the first 5-ish months of the year, I pledged to spend the majority of my time in June at home working on fun content (and other side projects!) for you guys.
I’m leaving town for 2 weeks
That being said, I leave town next week and will be traveling for a solid 2 weeks – I’m both excited and nervous! I always get a little nervous before traveling because it’s hard for me to manage everything while away from the office. But traveling is part of my job and I always end up enjoying myself once I get there! Also, traveling or being on-the-go forces me to grow in new ways, learn better management skills, and hone in on my communication skills – among other things too.
The week before leaving town is always bit crazy as I get ready, but it’s also super fun too! I’m working on hammering out my content calendar for the next few weeks so I can be organized (or at least try to be!) while I’m away from my computer. I hope to be able to still write a few posts while in St. Thomas, but to be honest I never really know what my “desk time” will look like when I’m on-the-go. So we shall see!
That funk I’m in
Like I’ve mentioned many times over the past few weeks, I’m totally knee-deep in a funk. But I’ve actually sort of started to embrace it and just be fine with where I am and make the most of it. To be honest, telling you guys about it actually took a lot of pressure off me and it was very cathartic to let you guys in on what’s been going on – as strange as that sounds. But sometimes keeping things in or pretending like things are a certain way (when they’re not) can be incredibly exhausting without even realizing it. I’m actually even thinking about shifting some things around with my editorial calendar so I can speak specifically to the funk, what it’s like, and how I’ve been dealing with it (although I don’t know when it’ll go away or be over).
Other Updates at BTD
In other news, we’ve added a new member to our already-growing team and I can’t wait to introduce you! She’s super cute and is a student at SMU currently in summer school. She’s only been working for a few days now, so I’m hoping to introduce y’all to her via instagram stories on Friday – stay tuned!
I updated y’all on my home decorating process and showed y’all what’s new in my bedroom and living room. My mom actually came in town this past weekend to help me make some decisions and move a few things forward. I never thought I’d ever say this, but I’m actually most excited about my dining room! (who knew?! I don’t even have reason to HAVE a dining room lol). But while mom was in town, we found the PERFECT piece of art for it and I’m totally in love with my burl wood table I got from Modshop! (you might have seen it that one day I updated y’all on instagram stories?! full reveal to come though!)
Next Week on BTD
As far as what’s coming next week (blog content-wise), I’m sharing my experience with getting glasses and how I found out that my eyes are actually VERY less-than-perfect (coming Wednesday!) and then sharing some 4th of July inspiration on Friday for you guys!
I’m sure I’ll also be posting live from St. Thomas as well (where I’ll be next week!). Be sure to follow along on instagram + instagram stories! I’m also hoping to write a blog post on the importance of alone time – but who knows if I’ll actually find the time to write it. Is there anything else y’all want me to write about? I can add it to my list because I’ve got an open day next week (if not, I’ll just take that day off! hehe)
Recently on Instagram + My Life
Now for the fun part – let’s go through the past few weeks covering my favorite outfits, what’s now on sale, and what I’ve been up to.
Like I mentioned my sweet momma came in town this past weekend to help me finish decorating the house. Well, “finish” is a bit of an aggressive word. She definitely was a HUGE help though in getting some things done – we found a piece of art for my dining room that I can’t wait to show y’all in the dining room reveal!
This top I’m wearing is on sale right now and still available in all sizes! I shared a few additional images of it on instagram stories yesterday – I’ll insert the photo below for you if you missed it!
And if you wondering about the shoes, I took this photo right after I went shoe shopping last week (ha!) and the ones in front of me were the ones I was wearing – they’re by my mom! And the other two are Sam Edelman!
Outfit Details: Gibson Tie Sleeve Blouse (40% OFF!) // Topshop Jaime Jeans // J.Crew Beaded Earrings // Steve Madden Platform Sandals
Such an easy and flattering dress – although it’s a bit more expensive than the (every day) dresses I usually purchase (it’s $98). Even still, it was just such an easy one and very flattering. The material is sort of like terry (is that how you spell it?) and just lays well on your figure – I highly recommend!
Outfit Details: French Connection Striped Dress // Kate Spade Gramercy Watch // Chloe Mini Marcie Bag // Marc Fisher Adalyn Wedges
I can’t believe this top is still in stock – it’s such a pretty one! I’ve worn it at least 3 times in the past 2 months! Love love love!
Outfit Details: Chelsea28 Lace White Blouse // Paige Verdugo Jeans // Saint Laurent Bag // Micheal Kors Watch
This outfit didn’t get much love on instagram, but it’s actually one of my favorite outfits I’ve posted in the past two weeks! I absolutely love this tank and am actually posting another outfit in it next week on the blog!
Outfit Details: Halogen Sweater Tank (wearing size XS) // Madewell Perfect Jean Short // JSlides Platform Sneaker // Mural Blazer // Ray-Ban Icon Sunglasses // Madewell Choker
Outfit Details: Ann Taylor Wide Leg Pant (wearing petite 00)// 1.State Crochet Tank // J.Crew Denim Jacket // Halogen Adina Slides (these are actually Zara though)
Pleione Ruffle Shirt (40% under $40) // BDG Girlfriend Jeans // Mar y Sol Straw Clutch // Dee Keller Floral Sandals // Baublebar Fringe Drop Earrings // Michael Kors Watch // Ray-Ban Round Sunglasses

I love, love lovedddddd this stripe and dot combo from the other day. Something about it just makes me so happy! I think the scarf and tank paired oh-so-perfectly together – don’t you think?!
I can’t recommend this dress enough y’all. It’s so great – you’re just going to have see for yourself though! It’s a summer MUST!
Outfit Details: Leith Racerback Dress (under $50 + SO FLATTERING!) // J.Crew Chambray Shirt (a MUST)// Madewell Strappy Sandals (mine are actually old by Lucky Brand) // BP. Bandana
Shared this snappy casual outfit on the blog last week and talked about how much I love this blazer and these chic-as-ever pants too! My shoes are old Dee Keller if you’re wondering.
Outfit details: Mural Structured Blazer // Lush Keyhole Tank // ASTR High Waisted Cropped Pants // Clare V. Foldover Clutch // Argento Vivo Bar Necklace
Made a quick trip to Plano last week to celebrate Sprinkles Cupcakes opening up a new location and wore this (SUPER) easy and cute little pink dress!
Outfit Details: Felicity & Coco Ruffle Tank Dress (wearing size petite XS) // Baublebar Havana Pom Earrings // Baublebar Bar Necklace // Chloe Small Marcie Bag
This exact swimsuit I’m wearing is sold out I think, but I shared a few of my favorite (and most flattering) one pieces on instagram last week. The one I recommend the most is this one by La Blanca – it’s so flattering! But you can scroll through the widget below to see the others I picked out!
Had to let y’all know that this chambray peplum top y’all loved so much was finally back in stock. I got size XXS because it totally runs big and FYI – the armholes are a little big too so you might want to wear a bandeau with it!
Outfit Details: BP. Peplum Top // Frame Le Color Skinny Jeans // Baublebar Sandbar Drop Earrings
I got a little personal on the blog last week when I shared this outfit – and talked about all the things on my mind and feelings I’ve been having lately. I love reading your comments and feedback when I share blog posts like that 🙂 so thanks to those of you who commented and participated – it means more than you know (really).
Outfit Details: Halogen Ruffle Sleeve T-shirt (love how thick this tee is! I don’t know how to explain it, but it’s a great fit!) // JSlides Espadrille Sneaker // Gucci Mini Bag // COH Lyla Distressed Jeans
Last weekend I went home to Baton Rouge for my high school BFF’s wedding. I still can’t believe she’s married, but I’m so thrilled for her! It was so great getting to spend some time with my parents and my boyfriend while being in home – in between all the obligations I had for the wedding. I need to try to get back there more often – I hadn’t been back to Baton Rouge since my sister’s deb ball in November because we’ve spend all our holidays in Shreveport (my sister is in her residency there so she can’t leave much).
Outfit Details: BDG Cropped Flare Jeans (wearing size 24 for reference) // BP. Washed V-Neck Tee ($17 – comes in 4 colors) // Jslides Riley Espadrilles // Calpak Marble Suitcase
Oh yeah, and this was a big moment on instagram! I finally introduced y’all (well sort – by way of a photo) to my boyfriend. He’s a sweetheart 🙂 And I’m so glad he got to meet so many of my friends and family while in Baton Rouge.
I shared this fun and easy maxi dress with Banana Republic about my trip to the Farmer’s Market in Dallas if you missed it!
and I wanted to show you a better view of the top (below) so you could get an idea of what it looks like on.
A fun little off the shoulder top – wish you could see the back! It’s so cute! But I will say, it doesn’t have much stretch to it so I would size up! The grey part is sweatshirt material so it’s super comfy but not too thick.
Details: Chelsea28 Tie Back Top (size up) // Kate Spade Watch // Gorjana Necklace
Talked about how to be a good long distance friend last week and had so much fun putting this blog post together! Post-grad friendships are so different and definitely something that takes adjusting – especially when all your friends move all over the country. It’s really hard at times!
Outfit Details: Topshop Button Front Tank // AG The Legging Jeans // Steve Madden Platform Sneakers // J.Crew Ruffle Top // COH Sculpt Jeans // Sam Edelman Sandals
Shared this outfit last week and talked about tips for being more self-disciplined. Did you get a chance to read that one? It was a big one, but I think it was good 🙂
Outfit Details: Free People Lovely Days Top (fits very oversized) // Baublebar Layered Necklace (great summer staple!) // BlankNYC Good Vibes Jeans (fits true to size, in my opinion) // Steve Madden Carrson Heels
Outfit Details: Calson Knot Tie T-shirt // BlankNYC Distressed Jeans // Adidas Gazelle Pink Sneakers // MAC ‘Mehr’ Lipstick (my favorite and the one I talked about on Instagram stories!) // MAC ‘Ruby Woo’ Lipstick (Red) // MAC ‘Really Me’ Lipstick
Wanted to feature that drying cream that made my pimple disappear from the other day on instagram stories (ha!). So yeah, here it is if you wanted to get some!
Details: Fresh Rose Water Moisturizer // Mario Badescue Drying Lotion // Chloe Perfume // Chanel Blush Brush // Chanel Powder // Drybar ‘Hot Toddy’ Heat Protectant
