Joy & Gratitude

It is gratitude that makes us joyful

I’ve come to realization that gratitude is not just a feeling, but a way of life. To lead a life of gratitude means making a conscious decision to make a deliberate effort to have a grateful heart and perspective each and every day – or at least for me. Maybe that means posting a sticky note on your bathroom mirror or having a gratitude journal to keep you in perspective. Maybe that means saying thank you when it’s least expected, eating slower, or taking more deep breaths throughout the day. Whatever it takes, do yourself a favor and commit yourself to having this mindset.

But really though, why is it so hard for us to focus on the things we DO have? I don’t know about you, but I’m constantly thinking about the things I wantAnd more often than not, these thoughts lead to anything but joy. Right? I don’t mean to condone or encourage complacency, though; I just think it’s important to remember to breathe in and appreciate the blessings that we DO enjoy. I hope you have a wonderful Tuesday!
