Gingham is one of those prints that’s been around forever and never seems to go out of style. While I think the print is super cute and flexible, I do think it can be a tad overwhelming. If I’m wearing gingham, I like to break it up, like I did here. It’s actually how I like to wear a lot of the plaid-family prints like flannels, etc. Doesn’t the vest just give a little something to the look while adding depth?
Gingham is also really cute when it’s a dress, and I’ll wear a similar vest or add a big scarf or something. Since gingham is also a bit preppy (at least to me), I like the vest – or maybe a leather jacket tied around the waste – to give it more edge. Basically I love gingham all year round, just in different styles. Rolling up the sleeves like I did here also breaks things up and makes the shirt more lived-in.
Since the upper half of my body has a couple things going on, I kept it simple on the bottom. Casual jeans (rolled up!) paired with booties pulled it all together to make a feminine and cute outfit. This is a typical outfit for me in the fall while shopping, watching football, or happy hour with friends. It’s comfy and season-appropriate all while being cute, I think!
