Back this week with a new how to style post on this midi dress I am obsessed with! I had y’all vote between this black color and the olive green style. I knew black would win because it’s so classic and can go with way more than green. BUT the olive green is such a good option for fall, too. So honestly you can snag both and have options! I love this dress because it is just fitted enough to give shape and not look bulky when you layer it – as I did in every single look below. Plus I like the short sleeves so you can still wear it right now and not feel like you’re suffocating in a double long-sleeve situation. Also, something you can’t see in these pics is that the dress comes with a tie waist, I have the tie secured in the back but if you want that belted look you can pull it to the front for a little more added detail. So versatile and such an easy staple piece to dress up or down. See how I styled it 6 ways below!
Leather Jacket + Booties
Leather Jacket // Dress // Block Heel Ankle Booties
Love this simple look – throw on a black or statement color bag with gold OR silver jewelry for an extra chic date night look.
Cardigan + Heels
Cardigan //Dress // Crossbody Bag // Pointed Toe Heels
I feel like if I worked in an office I would wear this non-stop in the fall. It’s comfy but the heels dress it up a notch for an office. Play with the color of the cardigan to match your style!
Denim Jacket + Sneakers
Denim Jacket // Dress // Sneakers
This is the look that I would most likely wear right now (late September) to probably run errands in because like I said, this dress is so comfortable! Throw the denim jacket around your waist if it gets too warm!
Duster Jacket + Mules
Duster Jacket // Dress // Leather Pointed Toe Mules // Gold Coin Necklace
I feel like this look says ‘cool girl’. The duster jacket is made of a pretty nice material so it feels more like a jacket than a cardigan. Love the notched detailing, too! These mules are also different than the Madewell ones I love – this style is a bit taller and pointier of a toe.
Sweater + Loafers
Crewneck Sweater // Dress // Leopard Loafers
Ok now for the looks that might be a bit tougher to master. Throwing a sweater over a dress is definitely a look for the cooler temps BUT I love how to makes the look completely different than just adding a jacket. I style this crewneck full-length sweater by tucking it under a bit to keep my waist defined and added these leopard loafers I love to compliment the color scheme!
Turtleneck + Mules
Turtleneck Cropped Sweater // Dress // Snakeskin Mules
I got this sweater in after I had styled the first five looks and just couldn’t resist throwing it over the dress – so here we are with the sixth look. Love this sweater because it’s more cropped than the previous one and the high turtleneck gives a completely different vibe! I went back and forth between these snakeskin loafers or the mules here but settled on these mules cause they are so unique and a bit breezier (cause I still live in Texas) than a fully enclosed shoe.
Do you like these looks – which is your favorite? Would you wear this midi dress? Let me know in the comments!
