Let’s be honest, working from home is great. No commute, you can snooze the alarm a couple more times (unless you have young kids obviously), and the work attire can be comfy.
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve worked in an office where the requirement was business casual attire, and I actually really loved it. But with more and more people working from home, at least partially, I thought it might be nice to do a little update on how to create a work from home outfit.
How to Create the Perfect WFH Outfit
Opt for comfort: When it comes to creating a WFH fit, comfort is key. Does this mean you should dress like a slob? No. But you should be comfortable throughout the day.
Invest in good quality: If you work from home, you likely don’t need an entire wardrobe of business attire. In fact, you can probably get away with mixing and matching a few nice pieces. My recommendation is to stick with higher quality pieces that you know will last.
Keep it professional up top: We pretty much all have to hop on Zoom calls these days, so it’s important to look business-ready on the top half at least. For me, that’s usually either a nice tank or cardigan.
Accessorize, accessorize, accessorize: You don’t have to bust out the diamond earrings, but adding a few nice pieces of jewelry can go a long way. This coin necklace is in heavy rotation for me. I’ll usually pair it with a nice pair of earrings for a minimal, yet classic look.
Take a minute for makeup: Even when I don’t have a meeting, I like to throw on minimal makeup and do something fun with my hair. It makes me feel way more put together and productive (idk how but I swear it does!).
This look from Shopbop is one of my favorite WFH looks I’ve been wearing lately. It’s super comfortable, yet I feel put together. Love the cropping of the cardigan — it keeps me trendy without having to try too hard. Oh, and don’t forget a pair of comfy slippers. 😉
