Fall 2013 Lipstick Trends

fall 2013 lipstick trends

Let’s talk Fall 2013 Lipstick trends. But first, I should mention that lip-stick/gloss/anything is probably one of my favorite beauty products to purchase. And this has proved to be a good thing and a bad thing (well, for my wallet at least!).

I’m not much of the “collector type” but I bet an (unbiased) evaluation of my lipstick and lip gloss (not to mention lip stains too…) collection would tell another story. And even though I’m well aware of my ridiculous surplus of lipsticks I’ve acquired over the years, I still continue to buy more. And more.

But why? Maybe it’s just me, but there’s something so exciting about discovering, purchasing, and then subsequently sporting a brand new and different lip color.

Now that Summer is (sadly) long and gone, I’ve been making the transition in my closet and with my makeup by dusting off pulling out my deep reds and plums for easy access as I get more and more into the color-weather-mood. One “look” I’ve been wanting to try is the “nude” look; hopefully, I’ll be able to make a trip to the mall soon to try some out! Here are 4 lipstick trends I’m excited about for the upcoming Fall/Winter 2013 Season!

Fall 2013 Lipstick Trends - 4 Looks 12 Shades

Innocent Nudes: YSL Nude Beige // Tom Ford Blush Nude // Bobbi Brown Light Warm Beige

Lady-Like Pinks: Lancome Pink  Bon Bon // MAC Candy Yum Yum // YSL Pink In Devotion

Daring Reds: Gorgeous Cosmetics Man Trap // Givenchy Carmen Excarpin // Bite Beauty Pomegranate

Audacious Oxblood: Nars Scarless Empress // Nars Palais Royal // Mac All Out Gorgeous

I used to think I couldn’t pull off a bold lip color. Even the thought of trying to pull off a bright colored lip made me feel silly. But after trying it out a few times (and putting on my big girl pants), I slowly but surely started to feel comfortable wearing fun colors. And now I absolutely LOVE it and dressing up doesn’t feel complete without it.

It’s important, too, to make sure that you’ve found a good color that compliments your skin. For me, I can’t really wear super bright reds; I discovered that deeper reds with a purple-like undertone work better with my skin tone (thanks to the brilliant ladies at Sephora!)

What’re your favorite lip-color trends for Fall/Winter?!
