I was really hoping to have enough time this past week to deliver an IF:Gathering recap for y’all on the blog today, but it didn’t happen. I think sometimes (okay…all the time!) I get a little too excited with all the content I’m hoping to share with y’all that I fail to realize what I can actually get done in a day. No matter how hard I try to properly manage my time, it seems that my sights are always bigger than my reality. I think that’ll just be a long-standing reality for me. That’s normal, right?!

But speaking of the IF:Gathering conference I attended last weekend in Austin, did any of y’all see my brief little recap I did on Snapchat? I’d be curious to see what stood out to y’all – if anything at all? Or did any of y’all happen to go or attend an IF local? I’m rambling. I’m gonna stop now!

Moving on from IF, let’s chat about overalls.

As I’m sure you’re aware, they’ve been making a comeback in the fashion world for quite some time. A lot of the big league fashion peeps have been reppin’ the look for almost 2 years now, I think? And no matter how cute or fancy they are, I’ve never really been a fan. Honestly, I knew I’d never really jump on the trend – no matter how big it got. It’s just NOT me. Plus, jumpsuits are hard for me to pull off since I’m so short and have such stumpy legs (relative to my torso). But when I saw this overall dress, I thought to myself, OKAY, now that’s a look I could actually get behind.

I loved the girly take on the farm-y overall trend: you know, converting the overall “thing” into a dress. Something about making it into a dress just makes it SO much more feminine and approachable if you ask me. I think this would also look super cute layered over a black and white striped turtleneck – don’t you think?

I will say, though, that I think this dress definitely has a younger vibe to it. Like, I think you sort of need to be under 35-ish to wear it? Do you hate me for saying that? (hands over mouth emoji!) Like I sort of even wonder if I’m even too old to wear it? Maybe I’m crazy for thinking this. But you can’t fault me for saying that it’s definitely got more of a younger-ish vibe to it. Right? Which I quite frankly really LOVE about it. It’s playful and fun! And TBH, I felt kinda cute wearin’ it – not gonna lie.

What about you? What’re your thoughts on the overall trend? Any of y’all tried it? Or would you wear this dress? I’m eager to hear what you guys think actually!
