There are few things greater than Christmas morning, am I right? Between showering your loved ones with special surprises and spending the whole morning lounging in your PJs, it is definitely one of my favorite days of the year. We also love to enjoy a big breakfast mid-morning that will hold us over until our early Christmas dinner.
We don’t have a specific breakfast that we make every Christmas. Instead, we love trying new recipes each year. I’m not sure what we’ll be making this year, but I’ve narrowed it down to several recipes that I’d love to make, including a family recipe that we’ve been enjoying forever. I hope these recipes give you an idea for Christmas breakfast for your own family this year!
Keller Family Breakfast Casserole
This is one of my favorite recipes that my mom makes! She’s been making it for as long as I can remember, and I’ve started making it for my own little family too. It’s the easiest recipe ever, and I love that it can be frozen for later. This would be a great recipe to make a couple of days before Christmas for an easy pop-in-the-oven breakfast.
Old Fashioned Pancakes
Is there anything more delicious than a classic pancake breakfast? I’ve never tried this specific recipe, but at a glance, it looks AMAZING. I know for a fact that I would love to enjoy this on Christmas morning! I usually make a side of bacon and eggs with my pancakes for that perfect salty and sweet combo.
Fruit Salad with Mint Syrup
I wouldn’t be able to serve this as our only dish on Christmas morning, but it would be a great side dish to serve with a casserole or even pancakes. I love that this fruit is topped with a tasty mint syrup so it’s a bit more elevated than just your standard fruit salad.
Classic Coffee Cake
This is always one of my favorite breakfasts, especially on Christmas morning. There’s something so magical about sipping a warm cup of coffee and enjoying a nice slice of coffee cake. The buttery cake, crunchy crumbles, and cinnamon-sugar inside create the perfect combination for a Christmas morning treat.
Make-Your-Own Pancake Board
I originally saw this idea on my friend Katey’s blog and have been dying to make it ever since. I think it’s the perfect Christmas morning breakfast, especially if you have a bigger family or kiddos running around. Everyone can make their own pancake plate when they want and there’s truly something for everyone on this board!
Spinach Mushroom Breakfast Casserole
You know how much I love the Keller casserole recipe, but if you’re looking for something a bit… healthier, this spinach mushroom casserole is a great option. If you’re serving a large crowd, you could also make both casseroles and add in a side of fruit salad for a great, filling breakfast!
French Toast
Oh my stars, how good does this french toast look? I’m a huge sucker for french toast, and this recipe looks DELICIOUS. With only five ingredients, this recipe is super easy to make and will be a crowd-pleaser for sure. I love topping my french toast with all kinds of fun things like fresh berries, whipped cream, and maple syrup.
