Four’s Nursery Photo Tour

I’ve been sitting on these photos for almost two months now, and I apologize I’m just now getting to sitting down and writing this post! But alas, I’m here and we’re doing it! We have been really enjoying his nursery over the last several months and I couldn’t be more pleased with the way it turned out. I didn’t start working on it until I was about 6 months pregnant and didn’t wrap up the final touches until Four was almost 4 months old. But as most of you know, a lot of that had to do with the fact that we moved from Colorado to Texas and then he came 6 weeks early – it  has been quite the crazy season for us this past year.

I wanted his nursery to be a place that felt calm and serene since I knew we’d be spending a lot of time in it. But I also strongly disliked most of the nurseries I’d come across online when looking for inspiration – something about the overly baby-feeling nurseries just didn’t excite me. I wanted the space to feel a little more grown up and be a room that he could easily grow into as he gets older. I’m not sure how long we’ll be in this home, but I’m hoping we’ll be here for at least 3 years! So I wanted to create a space where I could easily swap the crib for a big boy bed and a bed side table. I shared some of my nursery inspiration in this post if you missed it.

I’d worked with Bridgid Williams while we lived in Denver to put together a few rooms; she helped me with our bedroom, living room and my office in our Denver home. And since I was planning the nursery while also moving and pregnant, I was so thankful to have her also help with putting together the nursery. She’s so talented and just understands what I like – something that’s so valuable when working with a designer.

I shared the process of how the nursery came to be in this highlight on my Instagram if missed it. I love seeing things from start to finish – the entire process.

Also, if you’re expecting and want to see some our favorite baby products, I shared a post rounding up what we love the most here!

I knew from the get-go that I wanted to add some kind of paneling or woodwork to the nursery to add some interest. And after scrolling for weeks at inspiration, I decided that wainscoting was the answer! I just wasn’t sure if I wanted to do a dark taupe color, black or a moss green. As you can see in the photos, we ended up going with a grey/green color that I’m truly I love with! I had originally imaged something more green in here, but I actually love how this color turned out and has more grey in it. I feel like we won’t get sick of it and it makes me smile every time I walk in here.
