Hey guys, how’s it going? I don’t know about y’all but this week has been SUPER off for me. Like, I’ve just felt so behind, disoriented and straight up tired. Having Monday off is nice, but it does sort of shake things up for your week doesn’t it? How’s yours going?
Putting The Look Together
Today’s outfit is one of my favorites as of late – it’s kinda different than my usual getup in that it’s a little more “snappy” (is that a word? I mean like “dressed up”? I guess). But whatever the case, I LOVE it. I usually put together my outfits by starting with one item and then building a look around it, considering the weather, occasion and what I’ll be up to. So for this look, I wanted to experiment with color and tried a few different tops – instead of just going for the obvious: aka white. I could have easily paired a white silk tank with these pants and it would have looked great (right?). But I wanted to challenge myself – I’ve been doing that a lot lately and it’s been fun.
Instead of pairing it with a simple white top, I took a page out of the monochromatic style book (I just made that up…) and tried some tone-on-tone action, pairing a sky blue tank with my navy pants. And I’m not gonna lie, I was totally diggin’ it. I threw on this white blazer that I picked up last week at Nordstrom to finish off the look, and paired an old pair of Dee Keller nude wedges with it.
Question: Could You wear this to work?
So I’m curious. For those of you who work in an office (business casual) environment, would you be able to wear this to work? I’ve been making a conscious effort to purchase and dress more with that in mind – in hopes of providing some fresh outfit inspiration for you working ladies. But regardless of whether you can wear the pants, shoes and tank, you can DEFINITELY wear this blazer (such a great fit and under $80! It also comes in black.)
How cute are these pants, though?
I didn’t realize how much I was loving the billow-y, cropped pants trend until I straightened up my closet last week and saw that I’d accumulated a solid collection of 6 different pairs! No but really, I’m thrilled this is a “thing” because culottes can be so comfy and yet still chic too! Oh and last thing about these pants (promise), I love that they’re high-waisted, and THAT CHEETAH PRINT – so cute right?!
