The All Black Outfit
During the chillier months, I love wearing head-to-toe black for an all black outfit. I know it probably sounds surprising or a little “off” for me (given that my name is “Brighton” and I usually like a good bit of color), but I really enjoy wearing all black and finding new ways to pull off the look. I’ve found that wearing leather leggings with an all black outfit always works because the shiny-like look of the leggings adds a different texture so it doesn’t look like you’re wearing a head-to-toe black jump suit (ha!).
I wore a similar all black outfit last year when I talked about my favorite date night outfit where I wore these liquid leather leggings with another black sweater but instead added a scarf and wore neutral shoes to add a little color to it. But even still, it was another all black outfit aside from the accessories.
Another way I like to wear all black is with my over the knee boots (sort of like I did in this outfit but with a black sweater). I’ve actually got another look coming your way this week (most likely on instagram) where I wore an all black outfit with these same leather leggings but threw on my OTK boots with it and dressed it up even more – it’s a FUN look for sure! Stay tuned!
Wearing All Black with an Oversized Cardigan
Another one of my favorite ways to wear an all black outfit is with an oversized (most likely dark-hued) cozy cardigan. I especially love this look for a night out with a pair of stilettos like I did in this outfit! It’s the perfect date night outfit as well – I think these liquid leather leggings are so flattering.
I want to take a second to talk about this cardigan because it’s all the happiness in a cardigan. No, but really it’s amazing. It’s not exactly the warmest thing since it fits so oversized (like, the arms aren’t tight, but I like that), but it’s probably one of the cutest and coziest cardigans I’ve ever put on my body. Well, aside from that other cardigan I’ve been RAVING about on instagram this week (the one I have in 3 colors).
Fall Folliage Road Trip Stop No. 2: Manchester, VT
I was going to put together my usual weekly (ish) round up for y’all today, but then I decided it would make more sense if I waited until we finished our trip before recapping everything (since most of my recent instagram photos have been from our Fall Foliage trip!). So let’s push that back until next week 🙂 And instead, I’m decided to go ahead and share this outfit I wore to dinner one of the nights while we were in Manchester, VT this past weekend.
As some of you may know, I’m currently on a Fall Foliage road trip driving the new 2017 Land Rover Evoque Convertible touring a few fun spots along the East Coast. We first stopped in Stowe, VT and stayed at the Stowe Mountain Lodge – where these photos from last week’s go-to casual fall outfit were taken. After Stowe, our second stop was Manchester which is where we took these photos!
While in Manchester, we stayed at the most adorable spot – The Equinox. It was everything I would imagine a historic, colonial resort in an old New England town to be! Everything about it was magical and the surrounding areas only made it more magical – there was so much to explore, see and do in Manchester! Needless to say, it was really hard to leave Manchester and we’ve already decided we’re coming back this time next year!
Saturday night we went to dinner Taconic Hotel down the street. The weather was nice enough to sit outside and after dinner we had desert and drinks by the fire. It was seriously a dream and oh-so-cozy! We’re thinking about looking into staying at The Taconic hotel for a night or two next year? Have you ever stayed at a Kimpton hotel before? I’ve heard great things but haven’t ever stayed at one myself.
