Let me preface this post by saying I’m using the term “fitness” loosely. Even though I worked out somewhat regularly throughout my pregnancy, it’s been a challenge for me to keep up a workout routine after having Blake.
With that being said, anyone who knows me knows that I focus on progress over perfection. I’ve always been someone who worries more about moving my body than hitting a certain number of “workouts” a week.
Right now, my workouts are primarily coming in the form of family walks or chasing down a busy toddler — and that’s okay. There are seasons of life where I’ll go back to working out with a personal trainer (which I honestly love), but this isn’t it.
However, it’s super important to me to demonstrate to my kids what it looks like to be active and exercise regularly. So, whether I’m able to squeeze in a short workout or I’m just focusing on hitting my steps for the day (shoutout to my Apple watch for keeping me accountable with THAT), there are several clothes and accessories that I’m loving right now to help me do that.
My Fitness Favorites Right Now
Vuori Daily Leggings: These were part of my recent Vuori haul. I honestly love how they fit — the 7/8 length is perfect for those of us who are a bit shorter. Plus, the drawstring tie keeps the leggings from falling down when you work out, which is one of my *biggest* pet peeves!
lululemon Align High-Rise Shorts: Y’all know my love affair with the Align leggings is real, so when I realized they have shorts too, I was sold. The 4″ inseam is perfect IMO… they don’t ride up when you walk! These are only sold online just FYI.
Bala Bangle Weights: I’ve had these for several years, and to be totally honest, I didn’t use them for a while. But I’ve recently been trying to use them when I’m able to fit in a short workout or even when we go on walks for an added layer of resistance. Every little bit counts!
Varley Sports Bra: For hardcore workouts or walking around the block, a good sports bra is an absolute must for me, especially after having kids. Mamas, you hear me. This sports bra from Varley is equal parts cute and supportive. I like that it’s not overly restrictive, but it keeps everything in place.
Cloudswift Running Shoes: I learned the hard way when I was working out with a trainer that good workout shoes are a must. There’s a reason that Cloudswift sneakers are so popular. They’re honestly great. I love this white color as a neutral sneaker that goes with any workout fit.
Bombas No-Show Socks: Once you’ve discovered Bombas, you’ll never go back. Trust me. I prefer the cushioned no shows when working out. I also love this brand because they’ll send you new product if something happens to yours — no questions asked. Their customer service is 10/10.
lululemon Swiftly Tech Tee: This is *the* workout tee to get if you’re looking for something that’s more t-shirt and less tank top (although they have a tank version too). The material is great if you’re going to be sweating, and it comes in tons of different colors. I always go up one size in lulu clothing, so a 4 is my preferred size.
