Why You Need a Suede Biker Jacket
I think a classic, good-looking suede jacket is one of the best investments you can make for your wardrobe. A neutral or statement-color suede biker jacket like I’m wearing in this look can do so much for your outfit-pairing potential, giving you so much more to work with when putting together Fall and Winter looks. I didn’t buy a suede jacket until 2 years ago, but I can tell you that I’ve been able to put together SO many fun looks with the ones I’ve owned. And so much so that I’ve continued to invest in more over the years and especially in the past few months.
This burgundy one is my latest addition and I can’t get enough of it! Sorry I’m not sorry that I love it so much and I (#confessions) cannot stop wearing it. If it looks familiar-ish, well that’s because I’ve already worn it in the tan color on my instagram. To be honest, I already have it in 2 other colors and I may or may not have just bought it in the blush pink leather….
So if the sheer number of them I own isn’t a big enough indicator, then hopefully this look will convince you that a classic, chic suede jacket is SUCH a must wardrobe staple. And while you’re at it, go ahead and pick up another fun color since this jacket comes in so many AMAZING suede hues! I also have a very similar one (also by BlankNYC) that I picked up in black leather during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale back in July. The moral of the story is that this jacket is a killer piece and is just the right touch of sophistication and edge to complete any outfit.
You can do so much with suede and I love how it pairs with denim – especially when the color of the suede contrasts with the particular denim wash. It’s a fun texture to mix with other materials and fabrics because it adds contrast that isn’t too distracting – like some other materials can be. I also love that suede is a material that (in my opinion) can be worn year round.
This burgundy suede jacket would also look great layered over a chunky cream sweater or with distressed light or grey wash denim. In fact, I actually wore it last week with a “groutfit” (aka all grey outfit) and I got 3 compliments at dinner on my look!
Outfit Details: DENIM: BDG high-raise skinny jean (I sized down, but they are TIGHT) // SWEATER: mock neck turtleneck (ON MAJOR SALE! wearing size XS, also wore it in grey in this outfit post – similar options here and here)// BELT: urban outfitters belt in size S for reference (similar options here and here) // Celine bag // JACKET: Blank NYC suede moto jacket (wearing size XS)
What about y’all?? – have you invested in a suede jacket yet this season? If so, what color did you go with?! I’d love to hear!
