Opportunity Dances With Those Already on The Dance Floor

+ Opportunity Dances With Those Already on The Dance Floor +

This quote reminds me of what I like to call my “creative process”. When I sit down to write a paper or do something creative, I usually deal with a bit of frustration before I have any progress. What I mean is that I must do quite a bit of “aimless wandering” before I can finally put the pencil to the paper or find a direction for whatever project I’m working on. A lot of the time when this happens, I get pretty discouraged and sometimes negative, but if I just persevere through this frustration, things always seem to fall into place eventually. And once I hit “that point”–where I finally gain some momentum–the journey ceases to be draining and suddenly becomes exciting and adventurous. Almost like a runner’s high in that I experience a surge of adrenaline and a newfound sense of purpose: a feeling that cannot ensue without enduring the difficult path that led me there. Which is, for a runner specifically, the several miles that it takes to get going. Does anyone know what I’m talking about? Basically, I have to just “start dancing” even if it feels like I’m getting nowhere, because simply “getting out there” is sometimes the only way I will find the inspiration I need.

How can you relate? What does this quote make you think of? I hope you have a wonderful Tuesday! xoxo
