Sounds strange at first. But think about it. The more you get to know someone or something, the more you see what makes that person or thing a part of this world. In other words, you start seeing more of the whole being or existence, rather than just a part. And thus, you become aware of flaws and imperfections. To put it simply, the closer you get, the less glamorous it (whatever that might be) seems. I’m not saying this is a good or bad thing (at all!); just pointing out a fact and/or rule of life. And an interesting and important one to acknowledge, in my opinion.
Things always look more put together when you’re looking through the windows….or at the finished product. Admiring someone or some dream from a far is great, but it’s also important to realize that we are doing just that: admiring from a far. Don’t compare yourself or your current progress (if it’s a goal or dream) to that seemingly flawless and unreachable object. It’s unproductive (and NOT fair to YOU!) and will only make you feel discouraged or inadequate. Try your best to be realistic with yourself and what you know to be true; and surround yourself with people who love and support you!
Am I being too vague? It’s because I’m talking about a feeling (and a general lesson or concept), rather than a specific situation. Hopefully, you all can follow me and relate! I hope you have a lovely Tuesday.
