One of my favorite transitional pieces for Fall is a suede skirt. Texas (and the south in general) is still so warm during the fall months that it’s hard to find cute pieces that look ‘fall’ without being too hot and stuffy. A suede skirt (or dress – love this one!) is perfect for early Fall in the South and also for the cooler temps (or Fall in general everywhere else lol) because it’s so easy to layer with leggings/tights or pair with riding boots or even OTK boots.
This outfit in particular is one of my favorites because of the amazing color combination. Something about brown and black offer such a great contrast and put me right in the mood for #AllTheFallThings (i.e., pumpkin picking, fall leaf peeping). In addition to going for the brown and black color combo like I did here, this suede skirt would also look super cute if you wore it with all neutrals like a cream-colored turtleneck and brown leather riding boots.
A little more about my suede skirt obsession. If you ask me, everyone needs at least one in their closet. They are not only a great transitional piece, but they also work great when needing an outfit you can dress up and dress down. This one is perfect for going to brunch with the girls or just running around town. I also love the longer suede skirts I’ve seen lately (like this wrap pencil skirt!) – they’re so CUTE for date night or if you’re going for a more dressed-up, elevated look for something a little more fancy. Overall, it is one of my must-have fall staples and piece I love to style (aka more outfits with a suede skirt to come!)
