Have y’all noticed the crazy amount of new trends so far this spring? I mean, I usually have a few that I’m excited to try, but there’s seriously SO many new things right now. If you’ve been around here a while, then you know I’m a pretty classic girl rather than super trendy, but when things are as good as they are this year, you have to give it go, right?!
Y’all know I’m a Nordstrom lover through and through, so what better place to grab all these trends? Everything I’m talking about in this post you can find at Nordstrom, and of course, I linked everything for you guys. I tried to break it down in an easy to digest kind of way because like I said, there really is a lot going on. Hopefully it’s helpful and gives you a little inspo to try some of the amazing spring trends happening right now!
But before diving into the trends, I’ve got an outfit to share with y’all. I don’t usually do this, but I actually incorporated TWO Spring trends in this look and I’m SO HERE FOR IT. I went with a classic all black look and paired my snakeskin mules. with my cropped flares. I wanted to tie some of the nude into the looks, so I threw on a linen blazer. And then I finished the look with a funky, clear handbag! What do you think?! See the end of the post for a shopping widget!
What do you think? Would you wear this look?! It also looks great without the belt, but I wanted to add an extra accessory to dress it up. Of all the trends I’m talking about below, I think. my favorite is all the snakeskin! I love the texture and the fact that the print consists of all neutrals, so it’s super easy to put together looks with it!
Which trend if your favorite?!
7 Trends I’m Trying This Season
Headbands & Hair Accessories
Hair accessories are probably the number one trend I want to try. I am seeing headbands, headwraps and barrettes EVERYWHERE and Nordstrom has some of the cutest options on the interweb in my opinion. This cute yellow and white printed head wrap by Something Navy stood out to me right away. Definitely something I’d wear every day and on trips to 30A this summer. I also think it’s “trendy” but not too over the top, which means I’ll continue to wear it more than just this season.
Snakeskin Accessories
All the animal print trends in the last year have been crazy. First leopard everything and now snakeskin. I declared my love of snakeskin shoes in this post on Instagram and y’all seemed to really love them too. If you’re looking for a cute and affordable option for spring and summer, I highly recommend these snakeskin mules by Steve Madden.
Acrylic Details
I’ve had my eye on the transparent Staud handbag for over a year and I finally pulled the trigger on the medium sized one and love it! But since the trend is so hot this season, there are many fun options if you’re looking to try out the acrylic trend without splurging. I love this boxy one by Topshop – something like this would totally MAKE an outfit! Ohh and this one too with the cute top handle detailing – love!
Smocking & Ruching Details
Have y’all noticed this is like everywhere this season? It took me a minute to warm up to it, but now I really love it! I picked up a few dresses over the past couple of weeks and I’ve already worn them several times. I love how the smocking flatters your figure and adds just the right amount of detail to a solid or patterned top or dress. I’ve got my eye on this smocked midi – SO cute right?!
I also love this smocked top for summer! It’d be so cute with a high-waisted skirt or some cropped flared jeans! And while we’re talking about smocked tops, this white one with the pretty sleeves (by Free People) is also ADORABLE!
As if cute tops and dresses aren’t enough, I also found this smocked swimsuit top. So so cute, right?! Love the colors too!
Lavender
Maybe I was ahead of the curve on this one because I wrote about loving lilac this time last year and lilac and lavender are basically the same things. Either way, I’m still very into wearing lavender (kinda obsessed actually) this spring. It’s such a good color for Easter outfits if you’re still looking for something on that front. If you saw my try-on styling sessions last week where I styled a white button-up 6 ways, then you might have seen these lilac high-waisted jeans – I LOVE them! And have already worn them several times this spring!
Square Necklines
I feel like this trend lends itself really well to the smocked trend. A lot of the tops and dresses I’ve seen with square necklines also have smocked detailing. Not all of them though! This neckline also kind of gives me early 2000s kind of vibes, don’t you think? I came across this top by Free People that’s really cute – I’m thinking about getting it in white! And I’ve got my eye on this adorable (super sweet) dress by Gal Meets Glam too!
Puffed Shoulders
Love the idea of a puffed shoulder top with a pair of cut off jean shorts for a fun summer look. I think this is one trend I’m going to try and really embrace this summer. It’s kind of right up my alley so I’m going to take advantage of it! I came across this dress by JOA that I think is adorable!
OK, what are you loving? All of them? Just a couple? Tell me what you’d want to see more of!
