Lately, I’ve been inspired by one of the oldest patterns in the book – stripes! They are so simple, yet so chic at the same time. The striking contrast of color and parallel symmetry that stripes add to an outfit gives an outfit just the right amount modern edge. I’m especially love the bold stripes – the thicker ones – in black and white with a hint of red. I also love the nautical feel of the Navy + White stripe + Red combination.
A blazer over horizontal stripes is a fashion fancy of mine – remember when I did it {here} over the orange striped Rag & Bone Sweater? And so is the brown & black combo – despite the fact that most people thing that brown & black don’t “go together” – I (as usual) totally disagree!

For your entertainment and style inspiration, I did some web browsing to find some other fashionistas who have done stripes very well. I love how Cheyenne meets Chanel styled this Helmut Lang asymmetrical skirt (SO in right now!!) with this baggy knit sweater. And how about the adorable Sydney from The DayBook in this awesome Forever 21 striped Blazer and beautiful navy dress??? And ugh, I WANT that NARS – Heave Wave lipstick so so so very badly!! And one more – the adorable Ms. Kendi from Kendi EverydDay looks so precious in her bold black and white shirt and red skirt!
