Hello Nautical vibes! I’ll never tire of the classic ‘ole red, white and blue combo and maybe it’s just me but this top was begging (!) to be worn with a little pop of red! Anytime I’m styling navy and white stripes, my eyes always go to anything and everything red I have in my closet – especially a bold red lip.
And speaking of red lipstick, I’m obsessed with this one and have been a LONG time fan sine circa 2012 – I kid you not. I sing its praises nonstop on the blog, my instagram and even in real life (lol – aka with my friends’ mothers who can’t keep their lipstick off their teeth and ask for advice…THIS is the answer!)

I purchased this little red YSL back in November for the holiday season and I’ve been challenging myself lately to wear it more often (aka so I don’t feel guilty for spending so much on a handbag…). And when paired with this lip stain I’m raving about, the two really do make the perfect combo and can elevate any outfit. But really though – would this outfit be as cute without the coordinating lips and bag?!

I wear my distressed jeans a lot but there really are some looks/outfits that require a good-looking solid dark denim. And in my case, I’ll always be wearing my denim as high-waisted as possible! I usually wear these (under $80) on a daily basis but when I want something a little dressier I’ll wear these Citizens of Humanity that you see in this outfit post – they’re great for day or nighttime but definitely have a nicer look to them than most of my other jeans.
