My Favorite Holiday Looks With Boden

One of my favorite things about this time of year is shifting my wardrobe to start incorporating fun holiday looks. Between lunches with friends, fun gift-giving get-togethers, and all the holiday parties, I find myself needing several new outfits during the holidays. Most of my holiday events are pretty low-key so I stick with more casual pieces; however, Duncan and I do usually have a couple of holiday parties to attend every year that require a dress or something more formal.

Whether I’m putting pieces together for a holiday party or just an everyday look, Boden is one of my favorite places to go for all things holiday. They’ve got amazing everyday pieces and plenty of cute holiday dresses that would be perfect for any party. In fact, they’ve got an entire section dedicated to all things holiday so you can find everyday outfits, holiday dresses, gifts, and more.

I also love that they have an entire page dedicated to velvet — this would be a great place to start out when looking for something holiday-esque. I’ve got my eye on these velvet ballerina slippers in dusty rose and this velvet bow hair clip.

A few weeks ago, I picked up two looks from Boden that are perfect for the holidays. Here’s a look at what I got and why I love them so much!

When it comes to picking out pieces for the holidays, I tend to stick with darker hues that feel more in line with the winter months. In my opinion, less is more (especially for an everyday look), so I also try to find bold pieces that make a statement instead of adding lots of accessories.

This Imogen Breton top is the perfect example. It’s topped with the most adorable velvet bow, making it somewhat of a statement piece without being overwhelming. This top just screams holiday to me. I paired it with a pair of Relaxed Straight Jeans and these Mesh Detail Ballerinas for a simple yet classic look. I’m not sure what it is but this look sort of reminds me of something Audrey Hepburn would wear, am I right!?

If you were going to a nice dinner or even a holiday party, I could totally picture this top paired with a cute black skirt and a pair of bold colored pumps.

Another holiday outfit I recently got from Boden is this super chic sweater + corduroy pants combo. Who else is getting major 70s vibes here!? I am OBSESSED with these corduroy pants (I got the color Ginger), and I thought the Relaxed Cable Sweater was such a perfect piece to pair with them. This sweater is actually so soft and I love how warm it is — plus there is so much texture I don’t even need to over-accessorize.

It’s easy to get sucked into the typical holiday colors and think you need a pop of red or even green to look festive. The truth is, it’s all about the material you wear and having the perfect amount of texture. Materials like corduroy, velvet, and cashmere can add a holiday feel to any look. What’s most important is that you find something that you love that looks and feels like you! That’s exactly what I did with these looks and I can’t get enough.

I hope this post can give you some ideas for your own holiday outfits this year. It’s such a fun time of year to play around with your looks and get creative! I’m sharing a few more pieces I loved from their site below to give you a little more inspiration.

PS — don’t forget that Boden also has an amazing collection of gifts for everyone on your list. I am definitely going to be shopping their site for a few people still on my list.
