Merry Christmas Eve! I hope each and every one of you is having a wonderful holiday season! I’m celebrating this year with Duncan’s family in Austin – it’s been so fun. It might be cheesy, but there is just something about being with people you love during the holidays – it makes me SO happy.
It’s hard to bring a side dish or appetizer when traveling, but I also hate going empty handed to Christmas dinner. This hot cocoa recipe is a great way to contribute to the holiday meal. It’s homemade and so DELICIOUS. Plus, it’s super easy to whip up!
Ingredients
¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
½ cup granulated sugar
A dash of salt
4 cups milk
½ cup half-and-half
1 tsp vanilla extract
Miniature marshmallows for topping
Instructions
In a saucepan, combine cocoa powder, sugar, salt and milk over medium heat. Stir consistently until it starts to simmer – do not let it boil. Add the half-and-half. Stir and simmer for 3 additional minutes – careful not to boil. Remove the hot cocoa mixture from heat and stir in the vanilla. Pour into mugs and voile! Add any topping you want – I love adding miniature marshmallows to mine.
Servings
4 mugs filled to the brim
Outfit Details: Black Dress (wearing size xs) // Boots (wearing size 7)
Merry Christmas! I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
