In my opinion, jewelry is one of the hardest things to keep organized. Am I right? Without a good system in place – and speaking from some serious experience, delicate necklaces easily get tangled, earrings lose their pair, and bangles end up everywhere.
So when I was designing and organizing my closet, I knew I wanted to finally figure out my jewelry sitch, so we did. I not only have a TON of jewelry, but I also want it to stay safe – as in one piece – and be able to know exactly what I have. Know that all my bracelets are in X spot, necklaces here, rings in that box – you get my drift.
Ultimately, I decided I wanted all my jewelry displayed, boutique style, with the idea that having it in site would compel me to keep it organized all the time! We’ll see how that goes but for now it looks great! Since I’m assuming I’m not the only person with jewelry problems, I thought I’d put together some of the options that I found when researching jewelry organization. I spent literally hours searching – because I couldn’t help myself – so I’m hoping this helps y’all!
For the delicate stuff
There is nothing worse, jewelry-wise, than a tangled, knotted, chain. And after years of trying a bunch of different ideas for hanging necklaces – like in a drawer, box, etc., I finally forced myself to buy real jewelry holders for my dainty stuff or at least come up with a system for them. I put these acrylic hooks in my closet!
Tuck it away
On the other hand, if you’re more of a investment jewelry person, or someone who prefers to keep their bling out of site – or at least in one spot, boxes not only do the trick but can serve as perfect countertop decor – total win-win! Just be she sure not to put too much stuff in each box or else it’ll be a tangled mess and defeat the purpose of organizing, ya know?
On display
I am a big fan of trays. I have one in pretty much every room in my house, so you can say I’m obsessed. They are the perfect catch-all though right?? So useful and can literally be utilized in any space. With candles on a coffee table, in a bathroom displaying perfumes, and YES to store and arrange jewelry as well. I like the idea of using a set of trays to hold my earrings, bracelets and some chunkier statement necklaces. Basically things that aren’t super dainty or could fly off easily.
Do you y’all have any good systems for keeping your jewelry in check?
