I still can’t believe it’s the last week of the year, but here we are! Something I’m promising to bring y’all more of in 2019 is business casual looks because I know I kind of slacked with that this year. Whether on the blog or at least on Instagram, I’m going to try and share a couple looks a month with y’all. Promise! And since the Nordstrom Half-Yearly Sale is happening now until Jan 2nd, I figured it’s the perfect time to share this business casual look.
Honestly, when I was a CPA and dressing more business attire, I did 90% of my work shopping at Nordstrom and nothing has changed since I’ve started working from home as a blogger. Their inventory is just too good for any type of wardrobe, to be honest, and I always liked to stock up on some work basics during their sales. Items are marked down like crazy (some of my picks are up to 40% off) and it’s the smart time to shop, in my opinion.
Even if you have a more corporate job where you need to dressy snazzier, you can find great things like these black ankle trousers from Nordstrom. And then if your office is more relaxed and you can get away with business casual, you can shop all the things at Nordstrom. Plus, they offer alterations and tailoring in store (sometimes it’s free depending on if you’re a certain card holder), which makes things really easy. It’s great for trousers or pants especially since I’m so short and rarely do pants hit me at the right spot.
K but anyways, back to the sale and some of the pieces I found for your business casual wardrobe – I’ve rounded up those below. For business casual, I love starting with an all black base like I did here and then adding a long cardigan (like this one for $41!) or a coat and some trendier shoes to mix things up. If you can’t pull off leopard, I pulled out some more neutral pumps and boots, too. Obsessed with this pair under $100 that could be for work or play and this Topshop jacket is perfect for that business casual look while still being cute!
Let me know if y’all enjoy seeing this type of look and more work picks and I’ll keep them coming!
