Hey friends! I’ve been meaning to write this post for forever and am finally making a point to do it because it’s honestly one of my most asked questions – are Golden Goose sneakers worth it? I’ve read a few other posts on this topic and I feel like the general consensus is an overwhelming YES, and clearly I feel the same way based on all the photos below but I do have a few thoughts I’d like to share!
Ok so first, I think it’s important to say that whether or not they’re “worth it” is 100% subjective. If your wardrobe needs a pair of neutral sneakers that you’ll get a ton of use out of, then yes, they could absolutely be worth it!! But if they’ll just sit in your closet and collect dust, maybe not!
I think the biggest deterrent for people is obviously the price point, which is also why I mentioned whether or not they’re worth it is subjective. Yes, it’s a steep price tag, but like I said, if the shoes are going to be a staple for you then I think the price is worth it!
Speaking of price, are y’all familiar with cost per wear? This is a great thing to keep in mind when buying anything designer or expensive. Cost per wear is the cost of something divided by the number of times you wear it. The idea is the more times you wear something the lower the cost per wear is. For example, if I buy a pair of Golden Goose sneakers for $400 and I wear them 10 times, then the cost per wear is $40. I think this is a great way to put things in perspective to see if spending a certain amount on something will really be worth it for you personally and whatever your budget is.
As for my opinion on the shoes themself, for me, like I said, clearly they are worth every penny. They’re so comfortable, need absolutely no breaking in and the styles are all so cute! From animal print to the glittery pairs, I just think the designs are so unique and not something you see everywhere. They’re also incredibly versatile, which just helps make the cost per wear even lower because you can wear them with SO many different outfits!
