After years of admiring the high-slit skirt look from afar, I decided it was finally time to give it a shot myself. The past few times I’ve tried to order this look, my size was always sold out. I’ve seen the most options on Revolve, but I snatched this one up from ASOS right before my latest trip to NYC. I really have loved so many of the options I’ve seen and think the high-slit skirt is such a fun and different option for summer attire. I think maxi skirts and dresses in general are such a fun option for Summer action – especially when you’re looking to switch things up!
I wore this look to brunch with a friend earlier this month (in NYC obviously) and I got several compliments on this look! I mean, granted, it’s a statement look, but I think it’s still tasteful and eloquent and perfect for a sassy day (or night!) out in the city!
I wore mine with a crop top because I felt like the maxi was already a bit bulky on me, so I wanted to do something pretty minimal and that wouldn’t create any additional “busyness” around my waist. It would also look cute with a bodysuit or a fitted camisole tucked in! I’ve even seen some girls wear them with a bralette, but that’s a little too edgy for me personally. If you’re wearing a maxi skirt that doesn’t have a lot of waist action going on (like this one does), it would be super cute to wear a high-slit maxi skirt with a knotted white tee!
