A little something you might not know about me is that I grew up cheering and eventually went on to cheer in college at UT-Austin. So obvi, I’ve spent my fair share of time at sporting events, but usually on the field. Once I stopped cheering and started attending games for fun (here for the hot dogs, let’s be real), I realized I had no freaking clue what to wear. Obviously my cheer uniform just wasn’t going to cut it.
What to Wear to a Baseball game
With baseball season coming up, some of my friends have been throwing out dates to go to a game. Since I’m sure a lot of you are in the same boat (or are forced to go to games thanks to a dude in your life) I thought I’d share one of my favorite looks for a game – specifically baseball to stay seasonal! This “get up” is, in my humble opinion, is the perfect look for a game.
Comfy Shoes
Shoes are probably the most important step here, as you’re on your feet for a lot of the day AND you want to look somewhat sporty. At least I do. But I also want to look cute, duh! I’m personally not a fan of wearing any type of heels to games, especially since they get pretty nasty in the stands. I’m ob-sessed with these Greats sneakers. Not only can I wear them literally 24 hours straight and not get any blisters or any other annoyances that sometimes come with sneakers, but aren’t they freaking cute?! I feel game-appropriate but also like myself, ya know?
Laid Back Denim
Next up, denim. Denim is a no-question when it comes to an outfit for #sports – much less an outfit for a baseball game. It’s just very American and resilient, right? If it’s hot, I’m down with wearing cut-offs, but somewhat loose denim is my #1 choice. Again, comfort is key.
Breathable, Casual Top
And then I think when it comes to your top, you just want to be comfortable and not wear anything that you’ll be worried about sweating through (ha!). Because depending on what time of day the game is, it can get pretty hot at baseball games….at least in my experience.
Low Key Accessories
You might not think of accessories as necessary for a baseball game, but they are. First off, a cross-body bag is key. You want both hands free to carry all your food and drink options AND to cheer on your team. Just super easy. I also usually bring a hat with me in case I’m sitting direction in the sun. A baseball cap or something like a fedora work depending on what look you’re going for.
So there you have it! The perfect outfit for a baseball game.
What do you think?
