I’m a sucker for philosophy, so I of course love the Nietzsche quote. (which explains why you might see the occasional quote by Hume, Socrates, Thoreau etc….)

But the image/quote that I want to mention is the last one: the poem by Shel Silverstein. Remember those books? They’re great. So simple and so telling. Like the poem conveys, it’s important to remember that YOU know yourself better than anyone else. Trying to decipher that “gut” feeling is paramount when making decisions, and even when just living our day-to-day lives. Yes, it’s easier to follow in others’ footsteps, or do what other people tell us is right, but we should all challenge ourselves to listen to that “inner voice.”  …it’s incredibly hard sometimes, right??  On a side note, we should also remember that this “inner voice” is often, either directly or indirectly, influenced by our motives and fogged by our thoughts. Like they (Paul) say, you reap what you sow. In other words, what you put in your mind and surround yourself with, will influence that “inner voice.”

What do you think about this? Which image/quote speaks to you today?
