There are 15 DAYS until Thanksgiving, y’all. I REPEAT. 15 days until Thanksgiving. It feels like we just had Halloween. Heck, it feels like we just had the 4th of July… and yet here we are.
When it comes to Thanksgiving, I have one strategy: be comfortable and eat good food. So when I put together my outfit for Thanksgiving Day, comfort is key (stretchy waistband anyone?!). Thankfully, this isn’t a stretch from my everyday wardrobe so I’ve got plenty of outfit ideas already in my closet.
As I’ve mentioned a few times, I’ll be hosting for the first time this year, so I’m extra focused on having a no-nonsense outfit that lets me focus on my kitchen duties. Below are a few outfits I’ve worn recently that I may wear again on Thanksgiving. No matter what your Thanksgiving typically looks like, these outfits would be a great choice to feel put together yet comfortable all day long.
Thanksgiving 2021 Casual Outfit Ideas
Joggers + T-Shirt
If you’re really into comfort on Thanksgiving Day, there’s really nothing more comfortable than a nice pair of joggers. These Lululemon Align joggers are my absolute favorites (size up!) and I love wearing them with a t-shirt and sneakers for a relaxed look that still feels cute.

Leggings + Shacket
It’s no secret how much I adore a good shirt jacket, and Thanksgiving is the perfect occasion to bust one out! Whether you live somewhere with cold weather or are here in Dallas where the temps are more neutral, the shacket is great for layering. Wear it with a nice sweater underneath in case you get hot! I love pairing it with these dreamy faux leather Spanx leggings that will forgive a multitude of sins (aka second and third helpings).

Half-Zip + Leggings
You guys went nuts for this Varley sherpa pullover after I posted it on the blog a few weeks ago — and for good reason, it’s so soft and cute. I’m also OBSESSED with these high rise leggings. This is a super casual and comfortable option for Thanksgiving that will keep you warm and allow you to eat to your heart’s content thanks to that stretchy waistband.
Pullover (I’m wearing the mustard gold color) // Leggings // Sports Bra // Sneakers
Skinny Jeans + Sweater
While skinny jeans aren’t known for being the most generous when it comes to a big meal like Thanksgiving dinner, they are super flattering and look so cute with a simple sweater like this cashmere sweater from J.Crew. If you want to dress your look up just a bit, opt for a scarf or even a cute cape.
Mother Denim step hem (love these jeans – I’ve had for YEARS) // J. Crew Cashmere Sweater (wearing size small) // Golden Goose Sneakers // Cashmere Scarf
Light Weight Pullover + Leggings
If you’re expecting warmer temps this Thanksgiving, this Sherpa pullover is a great option. It’s slightly less heavy than the half-zip I shared earlier in this post but will still keep you warm once it starts cooling off at the end of the day. I also just love the colors in this pullover, especially when paired with these super cute high rise leggings.

Turtleneck + Jeans
Love, love, love the fit of this cropped cashmere turtleneck from Madewell. It’s perfect with a pair of high waisted jeans and booties. I love how it looks with these high heel mules too. I’ve worn these mules all day long before and they are still comfortable at the end of a long day. They’d be great on Thanksgiving Day!

Tunic Sweater + Leggings
Is there anything better for Thanksgiving Day than a tunic sweater and leggings? I think not. The tunic sweater is great because it’s so long and works great with the ever-stretchy leggings. For this look, I paired it with my favorite pair of faux leather leggings that you’ve already seen once above. I’m telling you, I can’t get enough of these. They take any outfit up a level and they’re ridiculously comfortable.

Coatigan + Jeans
This is another classic option for a casual look that still feels super put together. My love for the J.Crew Coatigan runs deep and I love how it’s so easily paired with a t-shirt and jeans. In case I need to convince you further, here’s an entire blog post I wrote this week on why this coatigan (technically, it’s an open-front sweater-blazer) is worth every penny.

Sweatshirt + Jeans
Another great way to dress up a super casual and comfy look is by finding a cute sweatshirt that you can style with jeans and sneakers. This Rebecca Minkoff sweatshirt is a great option because its long puff-shoulder sleeves give it some personality and elevate the look.

Sweatshirt + Leggings
I’m highly considering wearing this ANINE BING sweatshirt for my Thanksgiving because I love how oversized and comfortable it is while still being on-trend and super cute. Here, I’m wearing it with the famous Align leggings. I can’t think of a more comfortable combo for Thanksgiving Day.
