Whether you’re a fellow Dallas native or you’re headed to the city on a work or weekend trip, I wanted to put together a list of some of the best bars in Dallas to grab a drink. It was really hard to limit this list to only 5 (I think I could list around 15 and it really just depends on what you’re looking for), so I went ahead and just listed the ones I frequent the most often.
Best Bars in Dallas To Grab a Drink
For the record, there aren’t in any particular order. I “featured” 5, but I’m going to list out a few others that deserve a mention at the end. Please feel free to comment below if you have any additional questions or are planning a trip to Dallas soon and want more feedback on where to go! And if you’re from Dallas, PLEASE weigh in and let us know which ones are YOUR favorite! I hope y’all enjoy – this post ended up taking lots of work but it was so fun nonetheless to put together for you guys!

1. The Rustic
The Rustic is the epitome of Dallas life. With southern cooking fresh from the farm and local beers, wines and liquor this bar/restaurant really embraces the Texas spirit. The owner, Pat Green definitely has an eye for musical talent and hosts concerts there on the weekends with local and big time artists. If you are a brunch foodie, you should for sure check this spot out when considering where to go (I need to do another post on brunch spots! Thoughts?). But speaking of their brunch scene, it’s lively, fun and the food is family style so it’s laid back and fun. I’d say this is for sure a spot to stop in if you’re visiting Dallas or to take someone who’s coming for the first time – it definitely has a “Texas” vibe to it 🙂

2. Fat Rabbit
Fat Rabbit has more of a night time with it’s dark lighting, club music and even it’s uptown location (amongst all the other Dallas “uptown night life” bars). If you are grabbing late night drinks, I would definitely recommend this as the place to go. Their best drink on the menu is their Old Fashioned, and anyone will tell you it’s the BEST Old Fashioned you’ll find in Dallas – without a doubt. If you’re looking for more post-work or Saturday night fun, they have a dance club directly above it called Masque (but FYI – it’s like a legit “club” so just make sure you know what you’re getting into! I’ve never been but I’ve heard it’s fun if you’re looking for that kind of thing).

3. HG Sply Co
HG Supply Co. is both a restaurant AND patio bar and above all my recommendations, this is BY FAR my favorite spot! No joke, I think I go here at least once a week – it’s right by my house so it’s super convenient. The concept of the restaurant/bar is centered around the “hunter and gatherer concept” – hence “HG”. It’s all about farm fresh product and models after a paleo-inspired menu; and of course, their drinks are no exception.
One of my favorite drinks here is by far their Moscow Mule (they also make a FROZEN one! so good!); it’s so refreshing for summer nights and comes in the cutest little copper cups. While hanging out on the rooftop patio (its huge) you can enjoy one of the best views of the Dallas skyline. If you’re looking for a fun appetizer to pair with your drinks I recommend their brisket nachos which are perfect for sharing! Overall this bar is a fun place to kick back, enjoy yummy drinks, and soak up the beautiful Dallas skyline 🙂

4. High Fives
High Fives is in the heart of the Henderson area of town (not too far from HG Supply Co. actually) and it’s another great spot for a quick drink and post-work convo with a group of friends. Here you can find some classic games to play like jenga and darts! All the while snacking one their delicious pizza and a bucket of ice cold local beers. They also are a dog friendly bar, so come on over and hang out with your little pup for some weekend fun!

5. Americano
Nestled inside of The Joule Hotel, Americano offers a laid-back, chic atmosphere. Their wonderful selection of cocktails and wines make it a great place to stop for anyone exploring Downtown Dallas. While there you should try one of their most popular drinks, the ‘Orzata Limonata’ (shown below), and pair it with their delicious cutting board OR their fried risotto balls (OMG! will change your life!!).
It’s definitely one of my FAVORITE spots and a great spot to spend an entire evening since the food is so divine too! The only downside is that there’s not really parking since it’s downtown, but there is always valet available! Unfortunately, parking is always going to be an issue downtown, but that’s never stopped me from going! Trust me, those risotto balls are worth it 😉 Oh, and also, if you do happen to grab dinner at Americano, you should hit up the Midnight Rambler in the basement of the Joule hotel after – it’s a FUN spot 🙂
