What to wear with Grey Jeans
Figuring out just what to wear with grey jeans can be tricky. I’m not sure what it is about them, but I even find it a little difficult to put together outfits with my grey jeans – although I absolutely LOVE them and wear them all the times. There’s just something about them that doesn’t feel quite as ‘neutral’ or ‘matches everything’ as your everyday blue jean does.
Just like with regular blue jeans, there are several different washes you could potentially have with grey jeans – ranging from almost-white to almost-black grey jeans. For most of this post, I’ve decided to focus on a lighter-ish wash of grey jeans but I think all the same style tips would apply for any shade of grey jeans you might already own or are on the market to purchase. I like the idea of wearing grey jeans (especially if you’re someone that wears jeans a lot) because it’s something different to switch things up a bit yet just as comfortable and easy (and can create just as casual a look – where as black jeans often look a little dressier).
1. Wear grey jeans with pastels or light-colored hues

2. Wear grey jeans with cream, white or cognac for an all-neutrals look
As I went through all my old outfits looking for ones where I’d worn grey jeans, I realized that I hardly EVER wear simple flats. This is one of the few outfits where I’m actually wearing FLATS that aren’t booties (my FAVE shoe to wear if I’m honest). So I’m kind of on a mission to find some cute flats for this Spring and try and wear them more!

There’s something about the color combination of this outfit that I LOVE so much. I think it’s the fact that this outfit is ALL neutrals – I love playing around with different neutral combos and creating new looks out of pieces already in my closet. (image via this blog post)
3. Wear grey jeans with similar shades of grey for a monochromatic look

If the monochromatic looks look or all-grey-outfit scares you, maybe try mixing up textures by adding a chunky knit with your grey jeans so there still a big of a contrast yet you’re still sporting a monochromatic theme.

I’m not sure if the all grey outfit has really gotten enough momentum yet, but I think it’s going to be around for a few seasons to come. Have you noticed that all the celebrities are wearing grey on grey?! I’m telling you, it’s a thing 🙂 If you don’t believe me, google “groutfit” and you’ll see what I’m talking about!
Regardless, you should definitely give it a try! It’s super easy and looks effortlessly chic. My only bit of advice would be to try not to match your greys perfectly – you wan’t a little difference either in texture of material or shade of the color to make the outfit looks ‘balanced’, put together, and intentional. 4. Wear grey jeans with black or navy for a high contrast look

This outfit is perfect for the transitional season and even for going out (or night time things) during winter because you could easily throw on a jacket for while you’re outside but then you’ve got something sleeveless on for while you’re inside in the heat.

In this outfit, I layered a longer camisole under my grey sweater to create some contrast with my grey jeans and to tie in the black booties.

Sport a grey on grey outfit but add a black vest against the grey for a high-contrast look

wow, this is an OLD outfit…look at my hair! It’s so short and so DARK! Gosh, that seems like forever ago. But regardless of how hold this photo is, I actually do love how different this outfit is 🙂 and I’m wondering where the check these shoes are because I totally miss them! I’m also loving the double check print too.

You can’t really tell in this photo, but this jacket is navy – I love grey and navy together! Even just a simple, oversized navy sweater with grey jeans and cognac booties is SUCH a classic and cute look. (image via this blog post)
