The New Year is settling in and I’m still trying to figure out how the last year went by so fast! I can’t believe I have graduated and will not be packing to move back to Austin in a few weeks – so weird. I chose the “take a chance” as typographic inspiration for today because we all could use a little reminding every once in a while that life can’t be perfectly predicted or planned out like we wish. I, of all people, am very guilty of this, considering my type-A personality and the fact that I am terribly risk adverse (hence the accounting career). But the truth is, like the first image states, if we really want something and are truly passionate about it, I believe that it can actually happen. If you’ve taken a chance to do something you love, tell me about it. I would love to hear your experience and what you’ve learned!
On the agenda for today: get my life together and figure out some short & long-term goals for the future. Rather than having the infamous “New Years Resolutions” I’ll be a little more realistic and figure out a list of a few “January Resolutions” instead.
Some of my thoughts for the list are:
1. Move my body more…aka attempt to work out. It has been about 5 months, so I’m pretty terrified. I went on a walk this morning, it was pretty pathetic.
2. Be aware of time – look at the clock more often
3. Do the little things that matter (like picking up other people’s messes/waving thank you after someone lets me over/listening before I speak/ actually setting time aside to pray for certain people & things/ thinking before I complain/ and saying thank you in every way possible)
4. Go to sleep at a reasonable hour 🙂
