Real-life inspiration on what to wear per season or occasion, or how to style an outfit based on what’s already in your closet.
If you’ve followed me for awhile you know I love wearing utility jackets for fall. You can’t go wrong with a classic, green jacket outfit – no matter which season it is! Utility jackets are easy to layer and the olive color really acts as a neutral. I mix and match mine with different colors and patterns that add depth to my wardrobe. My favorites are the ones by J.Crew and Madewell because they cinch at the waist, making the jacket not too boxy.
I love that you can easily wear an olive green jacket, or “utility” jacket, no matter the season; they’re a year-round staple for sure! And over the years, I’ve come to realize that olive green is essentially a neutral like chambray and khaki are, meaning that it’s super easy to mix-and-match with other items in your closet. I love pairing my green jackets (both utility and other styles too!) with stripes, white, black and even leopard too sometimes! Here you’ll find plenty of outfit ideas (hopefully!) by looking through some of the looks I’ve previously worn with my military jacket over the years.
Wore this to a meeting I had downtown at the Statler Hotel and to meet a friend after for drinks. It was the perfect work-to-happy-hour look! I feel like I wear this striped tee almost once a week – it’s so easy to style a ton of different ways! And I threw the cropped trench on to add a little extra something to the look + I’ve been loving a modern take on the classic trench lately!
