I wanted to pop in and say Hi. But really I just need to vent and update you guys on what’s been going on behind the scenes. Things might get a bit technical, but I think my rant is worth reading if you’ve ever wondered which hosting company NOT to hire…and just want to know what’s up over here. So proceed if you will…. image credit: Vogue Italia September 2011;…
Don’t let your self-doubts and personal fears keep you from accomplishing what you really want in life! Have faith and follow your gut – otherwise you’ll never know. The first step is knowing what you want and you must believe in yourself. Image Credit: Pamela Hanson // Typography by BTD
1. SO much eye candy over at The Everygirl recently…. Love getting to see a little behind the scenes action into Caitlin Wilson’s home. 2. Discovered a new jewelry designer, stalked her website, loved it, and I’m adding her to my list of cool and different designers. The ring on the top left is $88, the earrings are on sale for around the same amount, the other right is around $140…
There’s something so sweet and simply joyful about spending quality time with close girlfriends/sisters–catching up, giggling, or just enjoying each other’s mere presence. I know that for me, personally, I often forget how powerful a little “girl time” can be, but often times after a rough day, it’s JUST what the doctor ordered. So take Mrs. Audrey’s words to heart and remember to hold onto eachother. Hold on to your most precious and treasured…
Honesty is the best policy....right? So full disclosure here. I've been a little down in the details lately. And just as positive energy motivates and encourages, negative energy unfortunately has double the power to do just the opposite--discourage and impede. By no means do I intend to complain or be unappreciative, but sometimes it's just simply difficult to continue to focus on the positives. I know, I know...I sound like a cynical negative Nancy, but hey, we all have the right to get a little down every now and again, right?! And these thoughts/feelings are definitely having an effect on my creative juices and desire to put together a perfectly pretty and positive blog post as per usual. I hope you can understand and that you don't hold it against me or BrightonTheDay.
Never Let The Things You Want make you forget the things you have. After all the pinning and sharing from the last time I posted this quote, I noticed that you all REALLY liked the message behind this one – or you definitely thought it was a noteworthy bookmark or pin! Over the past few months, I’ve come across it time and time again. And each time I would see…

If I could have any style home in the whole world, i’m pretty sure it would somehow resemble the light and bright feel of this home. I love the soft neutrals mixed with the bright whites, with a little touch of shabby chic (but not too much!). I love the lighter-toned floors and all the natural light. I might add a little bit more color, but the beauty of a…
Less clutter. Less busyness. Less junk. Less obligations. Less distractions… I could go on and on. But what the saying ultimately comes down to is the concept of quality vs. quantity. I think it generally takes experience, wisdom, or an overall (big picture) understanding of the situation/circumstance to really understand and appreciate the value of this saying. What are your thoughts? Do you have think it’s about quality vs. quantity? or something else? I’m…
So make sure you’re not infecting anyone with a negative attitude! It’s so easy to be negative….resist the urge to complain or think the worst. Negative energy spreads fast and can completely change the morale of an entire group. Remember my post from a few months ago “what you think about, you bring about” ? Remember this. Do your best to think positive things and be optimistic. I promise it’ll pay off…

Passion breeds enthusiasm. And with enthusiasm, comes hope, faith and confidence. It’s a really marvelous experience- to be passionate about something (or someone). And such”passion” can empower and enliven us to do GREAT things, just like Mr. Emerson says in the quote above. I hope you all have found something you’re passionate about – whether it be a hobby, Jesus, family, or a sport. Because life is SO much more…

Although I had high hopes and good intentions for the Friday Five series, I’m thinking that I’ll have to put that one on hold until after “busy season”. Because who am I kidding? I barely have time to check the news (I watch it while I get ready/eat though!), much less peruse the webs and/or do anything throughout the week worth discussing. So for now, the series might be a little sporadic and/or…
All I want to do today is curl up in my comfy PJs and continue to unwind from this past week. All this traveling I’ve been doing is starting to take its toll on me! I don’t know how people do it?! But I’m doing ALL I can to maintain a good attitude because “busy season” (aka Jan-May) has nearly just begun…and if there’s one thing I’ve learned in life,…
Enough said. :)
I forgot to do this yesterday. It’s important to remember, even when things get a little crazy! See you all tomorrow with a new weekly series post called Friday Five… you’ll have to come back to see what it’s all about. Until then, I hope everyone is doing well and has a wonderful Thursday!
