When I’m “being creative”, I become a completely different person. Normally, I’m pretty organized and on top of my game, checking off my list and managing my time wisely (or so I like to think). BUT…when I’m using the left side of my brain, my entire personality and way of approaching life turns upside down. I become completely one-track minded, have no sense of time, and essentially lose myself in my creative madness. It’s crazy! Typically, when this happens, I become super anti-social and end up staying up WAY too late. Despite these downfalls, I LOVE every second of it and the adrenaline is unreal.  Last night was one of those nights. I did not go to sleep until 5:00 AM, but I have a quasi-legitimate reason for doing so!  I’ve been quote-on-quote “hired” to design a blog/brand and my first meeting was this morning! It went really well by the way – I’m very excited about the soon-to-be-born blog – I’ll tell you more about it once we figure out more of the details :)

Anyway, my creative process (more like my chaotic stream of consciousness) is quite interesting. If I had to explain it to you briefly, I would ask you to imagine roaming around aimlessly in the dark for hours – and every so often you see a star or something sparkle…and slowly but surely the sky becomes lit up with stars of all different sizes and sparkles.  There is no order to the stars and no predictability to how or when they will appear. So, to draw the connection, the sky is the evolution of the idea/project and the journey is my brainstorming and information-gathering process – I guess. Make sense?

If you haven’t become a “fan” on Facebook yet, please do! I’m waiting until I get 1,00 likes (which could take a while…) until I do any give aways… I plan on doing some awesome Dee Keller Design give aways once I reach that point. So if you’re a fan of this blog and Dee Keller shoes, please like the BrightonTheDay facebook page AND Dee Keller Designs facebook page!
