I know I’ve been posting a lot of chatter about this whole fit and flare look (here and here), but these frilly skirts are just so much fun to wear! The DVF one above is selling out super fast and the Parker one isn’t available at too many places (I know Saks has it in stock though!).

A little update on my life outside of BTD: So, I debated on whether or not I should fill you guys in on what’s going on and ultimately decided, why not? So for those of you who are curious, I was lucky (ha!) enough to be scheduled on multiple year ends; I just wrapped up an 8/30 year end and am currently working on a 9/30 year end now (and then will have the typical 12/31 year end come January). What does this mean? It means LONG hours and lots of hard work. On my current engagement, we typically work until 9 pm, which is actually not too bad considering what some of the other teams work during their “busy season.”

And for those of you who are wondering what a “year end” is, I’ll give you a little FYI – it means that a company has come to the end of their fiscal year and now must close their books and file their financial statements. And these companies hire accounting firms to help them with this process and give them the stamp of approval that they need. Contrary to popular belief, as a public accountant working for one of the big four firms, I do absolutely nothing related to tax. When people refer to “busy season” (aka year end filings and deadlines), they’re typically NOT referring to tax stuff. (unless they are a tax accountant). Okay that’s enough CPA talk for today. (Please don’t hesitate to email me if you have any questions or are thinking about majoring in accounting and ultimately getting your CPA – I know I had a million questions when I was figuring it all out!)
